PRAYER
Lord, we pray for all who suffer from the coronavirus.
May those who are infected receive the proper treatment
and the comfort of your healing presence.
May our caregivers, families and neighbors be shielded
from the onslaught of the virus.
Give solace to those who grieve the loss of loved ones.
Protect and guide those who strive to find a cure,
that our work may conquer the disease and restore communities to wholeness and health.
The light of God surrounds us,
the love of God enfolds us,
the power of God protects us,
the presence of God watches over us.
Wherever we are, God is. And where
God is, all will be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Amen.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parent/Guardians,
What an incredible start to 2022!!! Our schools are under siege with the virus and everyone is trying their best to be safe, but the virus is getting the best of us. Please be safe and pray for our school community. We have been fortunate in many ways compared to other school communities and I pray we will be safe over the next few weeks.
May I express my gratitude to my wonderful staff who have worked overtime to keep the classes going and to supervise the students. Yesterday was a challenge with the testing but we were fortunate to have things in place so that Virus Geeks were able to assist our community in testing.
As of this moment, we have the majority of classes on modified quarantine for a 10-day period. Students will need to test twice during this period and in the letters you received, that information was indicated. At the end of the 10 days, the school needs to have a copy of a negative test result. The end date of modified quarantine for classes will be January 15th. If your child tested with Virus Geeks yesterday (01/06/22) and will again next Tuesday (01/11/22), disregard the submission date of negative results. If you utilized outside testing, please ensure your child has taken a test prior to the submission date. I do ask that you abide by these rules from the county health department.
Please contact Mrs. Gatmen for any questions mgatmen@ssfallsoulsschool.org.
San Mateo County Health release new guidance yesterday January 6th. We are reviewing them at the moment and the San Mateo County Education office will be updating their pandemic framework and we will follow suit. Our mitigation plan is posted on the school website and will be updated shortly.
It is critical that children be vaccinated and follow the guidelines from the county health department. I can assure you if I was not vaccinated that I would have been in more danger than I was.
At the moment sports practices are on hold and any other group activities. Once we overcome this surge, we can re-instate activities. We are having Mass online.
I wish to thank everyone who was generous in acknowledging the staff at Christmas time. Your gifts were much appreciated.
Thanks to those who contributed to the Annual Scholarship Appeal over the Christmas break.
Kindergarten and Preschool Enrollments: We are currently taking Kindergarten enrollments for the new school year. Please contact Mrs. Cierra at info@ssfallsoulsschool.org.
For preschool enrollments, contact Mr. Eric Liu at preschool@ssfallsoulsschool.org
We are attempting to bring Bingo back and is possible to have a start date in March. We will keep you informed as the time gets closer.
I wish you all good health and ask for God’s blessing on our school community.
God Bless,
Vincent Riener
