Superintendent Brunson to Hold State of the District Address Today- May 2nd
Colin Powell Bands Fly Like Eagles Under the Leadership of Jensen & Perry!
On Saturday, April 27th, Colin Powell Middle School Bands particpated in the State Band Contest at Hinsdale Central HIgh School. Our Cadet Band received an Excellent Rating! Our Concert Band received a Superior Rating! Congratulations to our bands! Congratulatons to Mr. Jensen and Ms. Perry for doing an excellence job with our scholars!

Marya Yates Honors World Health Day and Earth Day
As winners of the competition, they received healthy snacks. Thank you Nurse Myles for coordinating the program!
Ms. Martin's Class also participated in Earth Day by having a trash clean-up event at the park near the school. Awesome Ms. Martin and Marya Yates Knights!
Earth Day Essay Contest Winners
This week, eleven Colin Powell Eagle Scholars were awarded gift cards and certificates for their participation in the Earth Day Essayn Contest. Each scholar submitted an essay outlining the signifiance of Earth Day. Great job!

Scholars Plant Trees For Arbor Day
Scholars from each school planted a tree in honor of Arbor Day. Representatives from each school higlighted the importance of Arbor Day. The scholars will name the trees and promised to take good care of them. Marya Yates already named their tree Billy Bob! Colin Powell named their tree Eagle! We can't wait to see what Neil Armstrong, Woodgate and SIeden Prairie Name their tree!

Celebrating our Administrative Professionals
We celebrated our Administrative Professionals for their dedication to our scholars, staff, and families. Each of them have contributed to the well-being of our school district and we appreciate them! We treated them to a lunch and they really enjpyed being shown appreciation! It was a great time.
