I would like to send a special thank you to our students and their families for making Prom 2024 a safe and enjoyable event for all in attendance. More than 350 students enjoyed an evening of music, photographs, dancing, and laughter. The Class of 2025 did a great job hosting this event and helping to provide memorable moments for all.
It's National Teacher Appreciation Week! Please join me in offering special thanks and gratitude to our staff at MHS who work tirelessly to provide a positive learning experience for all our students. The countless hours are staff dedicate to their craft cannot be understated.
We also have the opportunity to recognize our School Nurse, Mrs. Kayla Pazmany-Kinney, and Nurse's Assistant, Mrs. Autumn Cyr on Wednesday, May 8 as part of National School Nurse Day. We are fortunate to have such caring individuals support our student and staff population.
On Tuesday, May 7 the annual District Budget Meeting will take place at Massabesic Middle School at 7:00 pm for those interested in participating in the budget process.
This Friday, May 10, marks the second Progress Report period of Semester 2. Updated grades should be availably by Monday, May 13 - this also marks the final push for students to demonstrate their academic abilities with just over one month left in this semester and school year. I know that our students are capable of great things in the final weeks of this campaign - some students and families may experience added stress and anxiety during this time and I encourage you to reach out to your guidance counselors and teachers early and often. Our staff are here and ready to provide numerous types of support to help us all have a successful and rewarding conclusion to the school year.
Best of luck to several MHS students this week as they prepare to compete in the Special Olympics at Noble High School on Friday, May 10. These student-athletes are excited to represent Massabesic Green & Gold - we wish them well!
Finally, at the tail end of this week we will officially celebrate and recognize the mothers and mother figures in our lives. A Happy Mother's Day to all who serve in this role and capacity - we would be lost without you!
