Dear Dean families and guardians,

Happy first day of the Fall Season!

Dean Dragons are fully adjusted to the school routines, and students are fully engaged in learning. It is very typical for students to respond "Nothing" or "I don't remember" when asked at home about their school day. Here you have some promps that can help when having a conversation at home about the school day:

• What story/book is your teacher/class reading? Who is the main character? Tell me about one of the characters/tell me some facts you learned about...
• What specials did you have today? What project were you working on?
• What was the best thing for you at school today?
• What made you smile today at school?
• Can you teach me a new word you learned or heard at school today?
• Show me how you do your "math fingers."
• Did you help someone today? How did it make you feel?

Remind your child to wear the House meeting or House colors on Thursday!

Dean Street PTO's Fun Fair will be held at Dean Street Elementary School on Friday, September 27th, between 5:00 and 700 p.m. We need volunteers to help make this event successful. We hope to include a variety of games, arts and crafts, a cake walk, etc.

PTO's first fundraiser of the school year will kick-off at Tropical Smoothie on Monday, September 23! Please pick up dinner and your favorite smoothie between 4:00-8:00pm. A portion of proceeds will be donated to PTO to help pay for this year's field trips. THANK YOU!

Dean ST. Picture Day is scheduled for Monday, September 30.

Please, read this important information about Dean's AM and dismissal procedures

AM Drop Off: Walkers access the building using door #5 in the AM. Car riders and bus riders access the building through door #1 located at the back of the school.

Car riders have three paved areas for dropping off (watch for the orange cones). Please use them all to speed up the drop-off process. Students need to be ready to exit the car when approaching the drop-off area to avoid traffic jams on Austin Ave. and Dean Street.PM Dismissal: Walkers AND car riders will be dismissed at the front of the school using door #4 (students in grades 3 - 5 might also use door #5). Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade students will stay with their teachers until visual contact with their parents or guardians. Buses load students at the back of the building at dismissal time, car riders should not be picked up at the back of the school.

Everyone Reads:ALL students are dismissed at the back of the school, door #1. We have two school buses. Cars can be parked on the school grounds, understanding that buses will need to leave the school grounds first.
