Half Day
Celebrating Traditions and Cultures
Throughout the school year, Half Day invites families to decorate hallway display boards with artifacts that spotlight their culture, country, and/or traditions. From Azerbaijan and Turkiye to Japan, Serbia, and Yemen, students will see displays representing 15 countries. The vibrant displays are a hit among the students and truly celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make our school community so special. There are 51 languages spoken in the homes of students across Lincolnshire, Prairie View, and parts of Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, Mettawa, Lake Forest, and Riverwoods. The most commonly spoken languages include Mandarin, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Marathi, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, and Telugu, highlighting the district’s global reach. Thank you to the families who have volunteered to decorate these boards for our students.

We understand that homework can sometimes be challenging, and as parents, it's not always easy to assist with every subject. That's why we're introducing an innovative initiative to enhance your child's learning experience.
This access includes:
24/7 On-Demand Chat Tutoring
On-Demand Essay Review
100+ Weekly Live Classes
Recorded Enrichment Classes
Self-Study & Practice Resources
Here is a pamphlet and a video that provides an overview of the platform features. Students can go to their Clever Dashboard and select the Varsity Tutors icon to login to the platform. Any chat sessions students participate in are recorded and posted on their dashboard for future reference.
Students in grades 3-8 login into the platform on their school device through Clever (Instructions). We encourage you to explore this tool with your child(ren) as an additional resource to support our students’ growth and achievement. Please be aware that Varsity Tutors' enrichment classes do not serve as substitutes for D103 classes. Students are still required to complete all D103 courses, including Algebra I.
