Mustang News - May 10, 2024
From The Principal
Congrats to our seniors on their last day of classes today! We are all excitedly anticipating MSHS Graduation on Sunday, 5/19 at 1 pm on Richardson Field. Similarly, we are very proud of our numerous students who have taken AP exams this week, and will continue to next week! Our 9th-11th graders have a few days of classes left followed by finals May 21-23.
Additionally, good luck to our Girls’ Soccer, Baseball, Girls’ Golf, and Track & Field teams as they enter the home stretches of their seasons including league championships, playoffs, and final competitions! Good luck to Margot A. as she competes in state tennis! Girls’ Soccer faces off against Roaring Fork on Saturday at home (1 pm) for the second round! Girls’ Golf will be competing in Regionals on Monday as well as Baseball hosting their Senior Night Monday evening! Finally, Track & Field has their state meet Thursday-Saturday! All of our teams have had awesome seasons of teamwork and learning so far, and we are excited to cheer them on through the end!
Have an awesome weekend!

Wellness Lab had a delicious week exploring food! Through our "Eat Well, Live Well" workshop, participants delved into the cultural significance of shared meals, mindful eating practices, and the profound connection between food, gratitude, and overall well-being. They came away inspired to make nourishing choices that benefit both body and soul.

Mr. Walker's Mythology class put Beowulf on trial for the crime of Hubris. Prosecution and Defense called witnesses, cross-examined witnesses, presented evidence, and argued their cases in front of their king, King Conrad.

MSHS Parking Lot Issues
It has come to our attention that we are having a few issues in the parking lot at MSHS during pickup times. Some of the issues are:
Parents are still doing U-Turns in front of the buses when we are trying to leave for the afternoon routes when leaving the HIgh School.
Parents, Students and Staff still turn left when leaving the High School which in turn blocks the out for the buses due to the signs stating “Right Turn Only” between 3pm and 3:30pm.
Students do not let the buses in as they are leaving ( the spot by the bleachers where the buses come around)
Please help our buses leave the parking lot in a timely and safe manner and abide by the rules.

ManiPalooza is a family friendly free daytime event that leads into the Silent Disco party. Join us at Soda Springs Park and enjoy games, face painting, a costume contest, live music, food trucks, vendors, and more! Then stay for a Silent Disco party starting at 7 pm. Discounted prerelease tickets are on sale from May 2 till July 15, then go to regular price. You can buy tickets online at this link or at the gate. Silent Disco started rocking in Manitou in 2018. Due to popular demand, the disco came back for 2024! See who's listening to what channel based on the color of their headphones. It's a battle, it's a dance-a-thon, it's the quietest party you've ever been to. While you're there, grab a bite, have a drink, and make some memories..... Very silent ones.
