Hello April!
Welcome back & welcome new families, we hope you enjoyed a lovely spring break!
Lots going on in April including our Science Night on Thursday 4/17 here at Tamarack 5:30-7pm as well as Día Del Niño * Children's Day at Hillsboro High School 4/18 5-7pm, hope to see you!
We also have our April fundraiser for our Tamarack Community Group at Baja Fresh on 4/11, this is a no school day as we shift into the final quarter of the school year.
On Saturday 4/12 we will host a Bike Clinic in our gym from 11-1pm. Come with your child/children and learn how to care for your bikes and navigate the streets safely with the Safe Routes to School Program.
Additionally, the District Kindergarten Fair is on April 24th at 6pm hosted at Witch Hazel Elementary for incoming families, Tamarack will have a table for families to visit (our Kindergarten Orientation is at 5pm on May 22nd). On the same night, April 24th, Our 6th grade families are invited to South Meadows Middle School to meet the Principal, Chris Benz and gather information!
A few notes:
Regarding safety and our school parking lot-it is a ONE WAY circular drive through-please do not travel in the opposite direction of the arrows. Please use the crosswalk, it is really overwhelming for drivers to have children randomly crossing our very busy parking lot, sometimes with you and often without. This message comes from many of our families, and I want to ensure I am passing along a shared concern. We appreciate your patience at drop off and pick up, I would rather stress the importance of this than have an accident. Thank you:)
Also, with all the wet and rainy weather, it might be worth sending your child with an extra set of clothes in their backpacks. When it rains we have students stay in the undercover area (s) but puddles and play can make for a wet recess. Usually, we know their clothes will dry quickly but for some kids this can be upsetting, up to you how you would like to navigate. We did run out of pants in our spare clothes closet just before the break on one of the very wet and windy days!
I have placed the Lost & Found closer to the front door, if you arrive at drop off and want to take a quick look. It will also be out and ready for you to peruse on 4/17 :)
I think that’s it! Go Team Tamarack!
