FMS Mission: Promoting Growth and High Achievement for ALL Learners!
A Note from Principal Beamer
Happy February FMS families! January has come and gone and now we are some how already half way through our third quarter!
Students just completed our second round of NWEA testing and we had so many students increase their RIT score! Our 8th graders went on a field trip to Westminster and I received many compliments on how well behaved and respectful our students were! I am so proud of them!
We are wrapping up our Courtwarming Spirit Week today and we have several upcoming fundraiser nights for our FMS family and community partners group! Today, be sure to stop by Black and Gold for a yummy drink and on Monday, February 10th Denny's in Kingdom City is also donating a percentage of sales back to our building!
Our students have been working hard in the classroom so far this quarter and I know many of them are ready for track season to start! Stay warm FMS families! I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!
As always, it is a GREAT day to be a HORNET!

Family Conferences!
FMS Family Conferences will be held next Thursday, February 13th from 3:30pm-7:00pm. Conferences will be open house style so feel free to stop by whenever you are able to and visit as many or as few teachers as you would like! We hope to see you there! :)
No School on Friday, February 14th or Monday, February 17th!
"Honoring Our Hornets" is a way for you to express your gratitude to any Fulton Public Schools employee who goes above and beyond what is expected. Anyone can submit an "Honoring Our Hornets" nomination for any Fulton Public Schools employee.
*Recipients will be selected monthly from the nominations received.
Valentine's Day Deliveries!
We are not in session on February 14th as this is a PD day for our teachers. However, if you do send something to the school during the week of Valentine's Day for your student please know that this is our procedure for when gifts are sent to the school.
1) When the gift is delivered we call the student down to the front office to see what they have received
2) We tell the student that they will be able to pick it up at the end of the day
3) At 3:00pm our front office secretary calls the student down to come and grab the gift so they can take it home.
We have utilized this process for over a year now and have found it is the best way to prevent students from breaking or losing anything that is delivered. Thanks!
FMS' First Track Practice will be Monday, March 3rd!
FMS Clubs!!
Once a month our students get to participate in Club Friday! I encourage you to ask your student what Club they are in this quarter!! Our students love Club Friday!
Each year, students in FPS take state assessments from grades 3 through 12. These assessments provide valuable insights into student learning and their preparedness for college, careers, and future success. Data from the 2024 state assessments reveals the following trends:
- A student with 90% attendance is 1.5 times more likely to achieve proficiency on the state assessment compared to a student with 80% attendance.
- A student with 90% attendance is 3 times more likely to score proficient compared to a student with 70% attendance.
These findings highlight a clear connection between attendance and proficiency, demonstrating that higher attendance is strongly linked to better academic performance. To reinforce this, the State Attendance Target is for 90% of students to attend school at least 90% of the time. Achieving this goal helps ensure your child is on track for success, both academically and in life.
iSucceed at FMS!
Students who earned iSucceed for second quarter will be going on a field trip to the MOVIE THEATER in Mexico, Missouri on Friday, February 21st! :) We are so excited to celebrate our students and all the hard work they put in during the second quarter! In order for a student to earn iSucceed they must meet the following requirements.
1. Maintain all grades at B- or higher for the quarter.
2. Receive no more than 3 tardies per quarter.
3. Maintain 90% hourly attendance
4. No discipline referrals for the quarter.
If students did not earn iSucceed for the second quarter they are still able to earn it for 3rd and 4th quarter! Students who earn iSucceed all four quarters will earn a trip to the Science Center in May!
MAP TESTING!!
Students at FMS will be taking the MAP test the week of May 5th - May 9th! It is extremely important that students are in attendance every day this week as every student is required to take these tests. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to our counseling team!
