The Buzz
Spring Term - 1st February 2024
Message from the Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you are all enjoying the slightly warmer weather and I'm sure you are thinking about the upcoming half term which is just around the corner. This break marks the halfway point of the academic year and it's really wonderful to see how much the children have already achieved.
The information for parent consultations will be released after half term and I just wanted to remind you that all of the appointments will be virtual as all the appointments last term were face to face.
Year six children have been extremely busy this week. They have enjoyed an assessment week which puts them through their paces for the SATs which they will take in May. I know they all did their very best and the year 6 staff have already started giving pupils feedback and identifying areas to work on.
I'm sure you are all looking forward to the disco which the FoHJS have organised and will run on Friday evening. There are two sessions; one for lower school (5pm to 6.15pm) upper school (6.30pm to 7:45pm). Please only come along if you have a ticket. Huge thanks to the disco team for organising this and to all of the volunteers both parents and staff.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Ms H Lockey

HJS Achievers
Congratulations to Georgie & Cleo (yr4) who came up with the idea of a charity bake and toy sale to raise funds for the RSPCA. They spent time making a poster and sorting out their toys to donate and they also made some yummy cakes. They spent Saturday holding their sale and were really confident explaining their sale to the public and asking for donations. In total they raised £51.60.
Well done girls for all your hard work raising money for such a great cause!

HJS will be having the book fair visit the week of the 26th February (sales being the 28th and 29th February and 1st March). As a school we have 5 (£5) tokens to be won through entering our Extreme Reading Competition.

Happy extreme reading!
