Superintendent's Briefing

Congratulations to Principal Correale, Assistant Principal Gainor, faculty, students, parents/guardians and community of West Hanover Elementary School for being one of 355 nationwide and one of 12 in the Commonwealth of PA to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by US Secretary of Education, Dr. Miguel Cardona.

The CDSD is excited to share important updates about how we will be communicating with you and your students this school year. At Central Dauphin, we believe strong communication between school and home is key to student success. To keep everyone informed and connected, we have a clear set of communication tools and guidelines that will be used for school-related messages.

Janelle represents Region 1 (Paxtang, Penbrook, Swatara Twp.). She was elected to represent Region 1 in November of 2021 and in December of 2023, she was selected by the board to represent the board as Vice-President.

Janelle is a 20-year resident of the CDSD. Her husband is an assistant principal/athletic director. Her oldest son will be graduating from CD East High School this year and plans to attend college to become a Sports Medicine Doctor. While her younger son attends Dauphin County Vo-Tech and is in 9th grade. The Bingaman family has a spoiled silver labrador named Scout.

Janelle just entered her 21st year as an educator in the West Shore School District, serving as librarian at Fairview Intermediate School (Grades 5-6). She is a huge proponent of public schools and school libraries as part of a student’s learning experience.

The Bingaman Family enjoys attending/watching Philly sports and traveling to the beach and camping.

Special acknowledgement to Mr. Jim Fickes, Physical Education Teacher at Paxtonia, for spearheading this project for many years. Mr. Fickes has been instrumental in the program’s annual building-wide success!

NutriPacks is a direct food distribution program for all students in the Central Dauphin School District. Nutripacks provides weekend food and nutritional information to families for 30 weeks during the school year and are dedicated to helping food insecure children have the resources to thrive socially, emotionally and academically.
