The Weekly Highlander
Volume #11
A Message from the Principal
Thank you to our Veterans and members of our community who attended the Veterans Day Assembly on Wednesday, November 6th. It was a great way for our students to understand the importance of this holiday and hear directly about service and sacrifice from retired members of the Air Force and Marines.
This week, we have Cross Country Finals; this was rescheduled due to the wind this week. Please see the detailed schedule in this newsletter if your child is participating. On Friday, PTA will host PTA Fun Friday at lunch; encourage your students to go out and try a new game and meet new friends. We will also have Minnie the Therapy Dog at lunch available for student visits. Students can purchase time with Mini using 30 PBIS points and make their purchases through the PBIS store. No visits can be purchased on Friday, everything must be done ahead of time.
ASB is also sponsoring the holiday food drive, with donations going to a Tustin organization to feed families at Thanksgiving. The flyer in this newsletter lists the items requested from students in each grade level. The first period class that brings in the most food will win a GaGa Ball & Donut party for their class.
Please stay connected to Hewes by checking our website and following us on Instagram @heweshighlanders for the latest information and news.
