Student Discipline Management Plan: 23-24 DMP

On Monday we will be conducting each of our Safety Drills as required. Students ill be directed in several drills including a lock down and hold drills. We ask that students take these drills seriously, as they are important to keeping us all safe.

As a reminder, students are not allowed to have outside deliveries. While we allow parents to drop off items in the front lobby, we do not allow "Door Dash" or other deliveries. This is a safety issue, with having unknown items delivered, and all of our students receive free meals, so this is not necessary. Food that is delivered will be held in the office and not held in the lobby or delivered to the student.

Please talk with your child about before and afterschool expectations. We still receive calls daily from concerned community members who are worried one of our students will be hit by a car from crossing the street in an area other than the crosswalk. Please stress how important it is for them to be safe all the way to and from school.

Katy ISD is excited to continue the implementation of the District’s Raptor Volunteer Initiative for the this school year. The district requires all volunteers serving on campus during the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system.

Raptor ensures quick and easy volunteer registration allowing individual volunteers to create and manage a personal volunteer profile. In addition, the Raptor Volunteer Initiative will:

• Provide an additional layer of protection for Katy ISD students, staff, volunteers, and campus visitors
• Unite all district volunteers into one Katy ISD volunteer community
• Measure and communicate the positive impact of Katy ISD volunteer organizations

Katy Junior High follows the Katy ISD Dress Code Policy. Additional guidance is located below. New this year....students may wear leggings as long as their midriff is covered. As a good rule, as long as students cannot touch skin when their arms are down, and their belly does not show when arms are lifted, they should be in compliance with shorts, leggings and shirt guidelines.

We will review this with students, and videos will be posted to help parents make appropriate purchases for back to school clothing. If you have questions, please contact your student's grade level assistant principal, or Mrs. Lowery.
