Kyra Jordan, a Senior and student in the STEM Capstone Course, recently attended the Colorado State Science and Engineering Fair at CSU in Fort Collins. She researched coral bleaching and developed a device to determine early signs of coral bleaching. She secured a spot at the state science fair with a 1st place at the Denver Science and Engineering Fair in February in Micro and Molecular Biology. At the state fair, she presented over two days and she received a Honorable Mention. Her project also gained attention by C.U. Denver Student Showcase and will be presenting her project again in Denver this week. Let's congratulate Kyra for her hard work, perseverance and interest in science and engineering!!!!
AP Exams Information
AP Exams will take place next week 5/6. As buses do not run early on AP testing days, please ensure you have made arrangements to arrive to school by 7:15 AM if you or your student rides the bus. Afternoon exams should report at 11:15 AM outside of their exam locations. As buses do not run late and AP afternoon tests can potentially run past the final bell, please make arrangements to be picked up from school if you or your student rides the bus home. Students who arrive late will not be permitted to test and will incur a $40 College Board no-show fee. Please see College Board for a list of permitted/prohibited items. As there are many testers, we encourage students with cars to leave any prohibited items in their vehicles for retrieval once the exam concludes.

Junior Rafting Trip
Since 1969, Golden High School has been fortunate enough to have the Junior Rafting Program. We are one of the few schools in the state to offer this truly unique experience. Multi-day trips typically are 4-5 days on the Green River through Desolation Gray Canyon and the Yampa/Green Rivers through Dinosaur National Monument. Day trips are typically the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument or the Upper Colorado River outside Kremmling. This is 1st come 1st served, so if your junior is interested, please have them sign up here and pay a $50 deposit to the financial secretary to hold their spot.
