Be a Leader. Be You. Be Barry.
This week at Barry...
What a fun and busy week! We've had taste testers, hula hoopers, black light crafters, and amazing choir performances! A round of applause for the Barry'd Treasures crew who represented our school at the Real World Learning journey. We are so proud of the hard work you put into the store everyday.
We have also had a blast watching the students learn about leadership through Apex. What a great way to challenge ourselves while also raising money for our PTA. Apex is a wonderful organization that helps our PTA raise funds for field trips, leadership shirts, class parties, various events throughout the year, and teacher appreciation week.
We hope you all have an amazing Spring Break! Enjoy your time off and we will see you back April 1st!
Taste Testing!
Our Student Lighthouse Team taste tested new items for next years Cafeteria Menu!
PCR-3 Community Advisory
Community Advisory members and parents were invited to step into our Real World Learning journey across all grade levels of our District! Students from every school showcased their talents, learning, and experiences during the Real World Learning Showcase at our Community Advisory General Membership meeting. From PCHS's Common Grounds and PCMS's Pirate Perks coffee shops to Pathfinder Student News, Compass's Student-led Assembly crew to Barry's Barry'd Treasures store, members and parents explored, engaged, and even shopped at various stations. Kudos to all our students and sponsors!
Brant's class and Hayes' class enjoy a black light celebration!

Solar Eclipse Activities Planned at PCR-3, April 8
You may have heard about the solar eclipse that will occur on April 8, 2024, visible across North America. While we are not in the path of totality, we'll have about 88% coverage in our area, with eclipse phenomena from approximately 1-3pm and peaking just before 2pm. Science teachers and other staff members in each of our buildings are organizing lessons and activities around the event and all students will receive specialized solar filter eclipse glasses and will have the opportunity to view the eclipse. Specific information about each building's activities will be sent via your child's school newsletters. THIS IS WHAT I'M INCLUDING IN E-TREASURES. PLEASE INCLUDE ANY DETAILS FROM YOUR BUILDING.

NEW CDC GUIDELINES
Hello!
The CDC no longer requires 5 days of quarantine after a COVID diagnosis. That means the district also no longer requires a 5 day quarantine for staff or students. You are required to stay home until symptoms improve and no fever for 24 hours on no medication - just like our guidance for other illnesses.

🛑Safe Schools
Bullying and Safety Concerns: Online Reporting System
Safety is one of our district’s top priorities, and to help safeguard our school community, our District uses Safe Schools Alert, a tip reporting service by Vector Solutions, that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns to our administration.
You and your child can easily report tips on bullying, harassment, or any safety issue you're concerned about through this online reporting system. On the homepage of the District website (www.plattecountyschooldistrict.com) and on each school building's homepage there is a Safe Schools quicklink which links to the reporting tool. Every tip Vector Solutions receives about our District is immediately logged in the system and our administration is notified so that they can investigate and take appropriate action. Tips may also be submitted anonymously if you prefer. Together, we can make our District a safer place to learn.
🍕Lunch Visitor Sign Up & Menus
Parents & Guardians,
We love that many of you take the time to come eat with your children! To help the staff in the lunchroom we would appreciate if you could please follow the expectations listed below:
- Please only invite your specific children to eat with you.
- Help your children follow the lunchroom expectations the rest of the cafeteria is asked to follow like remaining at the table until their class is dismissed.
- When you have finished your lunchtime, please return to the front office rather than making rounds through the cafeteria to say hello to other students. The other students would love a wave though!
Thank you for wanting to be a part of our school community and we'll see you at lunch!
