The Lincoln Leopard Link
November 1, 2024
We hope this message finds you well and that the school year is off to a great start for you and your children! Thanks to the support of the Healthy Meals for All state program, we are excited to be able to provide free school meals to all students this year. However, even though all students receive free meals, completing the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Application can still benefit your family and our school community.
Why Should I Complete the Form?
Completing this form does more than determine meal eligibility; it unlocks valuable resources and funding that directly benefit our students, families, and school. Here are some of the ways this form helps:
Increased School Funding: Schools receive additional funding based on the number of families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. This funding supports educational programs, classroom supplies, and extra student support.
Fee Reductions and Waivers: Students who qualify may receive reduced fees or waivers for activities, field trips, and other school-related expenses, making more opportunities accessible to everyone.
Access to Additional Resources: Many grants, both state and federal, rely on school-level data from these forms. When families complete this form, it allows our school to apply for resources, tutoring, and enrichment programs that support student learning and growth.
Community Services: The data from the form helps determine eligibility for community programs, allowing families to access resources and services beyond the school day.
It Only Takes a Few Minutes!
The application process is quick and confidential. You can complete the form online at https://linqconnect.com/public/meal-application/new or by completing a paper copy and returning it to Lincoln. If you need help completing it, please don’t hesitate to contact our school office at 970-613-6200.
Thank you for considering the positive impact that completing this form has on our entire school community. Your support allows us to continue providing high-quality education and resources for each child.
Warm regards,
Ms. Stott

Climate and Culture Survey
Hello, Thompson School District Families!
Our annual TSD Climate and Culture Survey is open. We'd love to hear from you!
This survey gives us important feedback that will be used to help us achieve the goals of our Strive 2025 Strategic Plan and ensure an Inclusive and Supportive Culture throughout Thompson School District. Please click this link to hear from our proud superintendent, Dr. Marc Schaffer, about the importance of this survey. Here is the link in Spanish.
We value your opinions. Your feedback is important to us to improve the educational opportunities and services we provide to students, families and the community. If you could take a few minutes to complete this survey, we would greatly appreciate it. The survey is open October 14 to November 15. We hope this gives all TSD families adequate time to complete the survey.
You can click on this link to take the survey for your child's school. You can then do it again for children you have at other schools.
Thank you for your help with this important project--Your voice matters!
Sincerely,
Thompson School District

Nutrition
Nutrition Services is excited to share that we have contracted with a new software company to manage our meal and application program. My School Bucks is no longer active, but the new software is called LINQ Connect and all student balances have been moved over. This program offers many new features that weren't available before. We're sure you're going to love it!
As a reminder, school meals are free for students this 2024-25 school year! We encourage everyone to complete a Free & Reduced application, as it provides benefits to you and the district such as grants, program funding and fee waivers.

For more information, please review these Frequently Asked Questions.
Do families still need to fill out the free and reduced meal benefits form?
YES! Families will still be asked to provide household income information on the new form for this school year. *All household income information is confidential and will not be shared without your consent.
WHY should I fill out a meal benefits form?
The HSMA program is funded in partnership with federal nutrition programs that rely on that income information to support meals for ALL students. Other state and federal grants for school are awarded based on free and reduced meal eligibility rates - this could mean more money for your school!
PLUS!
Families who qualify may receive discounted or waived school fees, sports fees, utilities support and more.
Can my student still bring lunch from home?
YES! Students are welcome to bring lunch.
Please see our school's family involvement agreement linked below.

King Soopers Fundraiser
The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.
One of the ways in which we do this is through our King Soopers Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at King Soopers and swipe your Shopper’s Card.
Here’s how it works:
1. Create a digital account.
A digital account is needed to participate in King Soopers Community Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.
2. Link your Card to an organization.
Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the King Soopers Community Rewards selection on your digital account.
- Sign in to your digital account.
- Search for your organization under community rewards-Lincoln Elementary School
- Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.
Your selected organization will also display in the King Soopers Community Rewards section of your account. If you need to review or revisit your organization, you can always do so under your Account details.
3. Your organization earns.
Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. King Soopers donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating King Soopers Community Rewards organizations.
Please reach out with any questions! Happy Shopping!
