Corron Mission Statement
From the Principal
Thank you to all of our families for joining us for conferences last week. There were so many smiling faces as students and their parents left the classrooms. It was so nice to see our teachers connecting with parents and students as they all talked about goals and accomplishments. Having students present and participating in the conversations can be so empowering for them in their learning journeys.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure success for all of our Corron students!

Halloween
All celebrations will be held on Thursday, October 31st. Classes will participate in our traditional Halloween parade starting at 2:00 followed by classroom parties.
Parents are welcome to view the parade outside by standing at the perimeter of the playground or on the south lawn (students will need to walk on the sidewalk).
All day K-5 students will wear their costumes in the afternoon only, so please make sure your child can get into his or her costume easily. Please do not send your child in full face make-up, as they will be engaging in learning throughout the rest of their school day.
Please remember that students are not allowed to bring replicas of weapons as part of their costumes. We also ask that students tone down anything that might scare our younger students (blood, etc.).
Costume masks will be allowed for the parade, but not during the classroom parties.
Just a reminder that food is no longer allowed for parties. Please do not send in treats for your child to pass out.
Veterans Day Celebration
On Friday, November 8th, starting at 9:30 a.m. Corron Elementary School will host a Veterans Day assembly to celebrate those individuals who have given so much for the freedom we enjoy. Our 5th grade students will lead our assembly to honor the veterans within our Corron community.
We need your help at home to prepare for this observance:
1. We would like to honor our veteran family members who have served, or are serving, in the armed forces. We will be creating a video slideshow of photos of our community veterans. We encourage you to email 1 digital picture of your veteran(s) to our LRC assistant: Karen.McVicar@d303.org. Please include what branch of service they were in and their relationship to our Corron student(s). Digital photos of veterans must be submitted by Monday, October 28th. (Please note: This is the absolute last day we can accept pictures. No last-minute pictures will be accepted this year.)
If you submitted a picture last year, and would like us to use it again this year, please email Mrs. McVicar to let her know.
2. If your Corron veteran is able to attend our assembly on Friday, November 8th at 9:30 a.m., please notify the office no later than October 28th at 331-228-6900. We would like to send them an invitation and be prepared to recognize and honor them appropriately!
Thank you for supporting us in showing appreciation for those who have given so much for our freedom.
