Camp Out Event
Churchill School celebrated literacy at the Camp Out with a Good Book event. Staff hosted live music, book giveaways, raffles, fishing, games, storytelling, a butterfly garden, read alouds, and more! It was a true partnership with the PTA, whose volunteers donated bug catchers, flashlights, time and tents! The Glen Ellyn Park District led nature hikes, scavenger hunts, and a book walk. Hundreds of Churchill families came to the picnic to enjoy this free event!
8th Grade Service Project with Kiwanis Clubs
Hadley 8th grade newcomer students participated in a service project with the Kiwanis Club of Glendale Height and the Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn this week. The students packed snack bags for elementary school students to take home over the weekend. Thank you to Hadley ESL teacher Katie Reed, Chief Communications Officer Erika Krehbiel, Director of Language Programs Juan Suarez, Hadley Assistant Principal Angelica Love and Multilingual Family Liaison Eleanor Kearley for coordinating the project with Kiwanis. The 8th graders finished packing the snacks in record time. Way to go, Wildcats!
