EOC Assessments
We are preparing for the Georgia Milestones / End-of-Course Assessments (EOCs). Students enrolled in the courses below will take the required EOC.
The Georgia Milestones are administered at the end of an EOC course to provide information about the student’s achievement in the course. These are state required assessments. For EOCs, the test serves as a final exam and contributes to a percentage of the student’s final grade in the course. Our EOC courses are Biology, Algebra: Concepts and Connections, 11th grade American Literature and Composition, and U.S. History.
For more information please visit Georgia DOE – Milestones.
EOCs will be given online. Student must bring their GCPS issued Chromebook (charged) and a charger.

Attendance Tip of the Week
Attendance on Block Schedule Testing Days
- Attendance is always required, even on testing days.
- If you choose to stay home or come in late/check out, it is considered an unexcused absence, unless you have a county approved excuse.(See the attendance policy here)
- If you plan to check out for any reason on these busy days, please have your student bring a note to the attendance office in the morning, this helps us to limit the classroom interruptions and helps you avoid having to come in to check your student out.
- We can not not call into a room where testing is being conducted, even if your student says they have completed their test. We have timed testing blocks that we must adhere to.
There are No Check Outs after 1:30 PM
Please remember that a student can not be checked out after 1:30 PM. If you have an appointment please plan accordingly. The best practice for checking out a student is to have the student bring a note to the Attendance Office before school so they can be given a pass to check out. This cuts down on class interruptions and students can swing by the attendance office to complete the check out process and meet you at your car.

Counseling Office Tips:
Is Your Social Security Number on File?
Providing a Social Security Card opens student eligibility for Georgia Hope Scholarship funds and other programs requiring SSNs for participation within Gwinnett County Public Schools or the Georgia Department of Education. It is also necessary for students to be added to Georgia Futures which is Georgia’s primary resource for information on planning, applying, and paying for college.
If you do not have a SSN on file, you will be receiving a letter and an email on or around April 17, 2024.
Please have your student bring their Social Security card, or a copy, to Mrs. Whritenour in the Registrar's Office (Building A, 12.141, next to the Counseling Office) prior to Friday, May 3, 2024. Parents, if you prefer, please feel free to deliver card/copy of card to me directly between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Thank you!
Who Is My Counselor?
Each student is assigned a specific counselor. Please see our website to learn about your counselor.
