Monarch After Prom Informational Meeting on Dec 3
Monarch After Prom is a parent-led 501c3 that plans the late-night After Prom event for Monarch’s Juniors and Seniors. This year Prom is on Friday, April 11, with After Prom immediately after. We are looking for parents, especially those with 9th and 10th grade students, to join our planning committee—pay it forward now to ensure this event is still happening when your students are prom-goers! We need help in all aspects of the event, from fundraising and communications to buying prizes and planning decorations. We also need a Treasurer and Webmaster, so if these are skills you can give back to help Monarch’s largest student event, we would love to have your expertise!
Come to the Superior Community Center on Tuesday, December 3 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for an informational meeting to learn more about how you can help. If you can’t make it, please email monarchafterprom@gmail.com for more information.

We are excited to invite you to an upcoming workshop designed specifically for family members or anyone interested in getting involved with Career-Connected Learning in our PK-12 BVSD system. Career-Connected Learning experiences involve a variety of activities that introduce students to the wide world of careers at all levels. Whether through guest speaking engagements, site tours, project based mentoring, hosting interns, or many other things, we are looking to expand our network of those willing to support this type of learning experience.
Workshop Details:
Thursday, December 5, 2024
5:30-6:30 pm
Monarch High School Library - 329 Campus Drive, Louisville
Please bring a laptop or electronic device with you.
During this session, we will guide you through the process of creating a company profile on our new Pathfinder system, which will enable you to connect to staff and students who may be looking for professionals in your industry to share their expertise and help students connect to real-world learning experiences. Whether you own a business or work/have worked in an industry that could inspire young minds, your involvement could make a huge impact!
Why participate?
Inspire the next generation of professionals
Provide students with valuable exposure to different careers
Connect your company with the local school community
This workshop is open to all family members, friends, colleagues or anyone who is interested in supporting our students with career-connected learning experiences. No specific commitment is needed at this time - we are building our database of partners who are interested in being a part of our growing work-based learning system, and looking to train you on how to offer or sign up for opportunities when the time is right for you.
If the workshop date or time listed above does not work for you, please see the RSVP link for additional dates and locations throughout the Fall.
Please click on this link to RSVP for this event.
If you have any questions, please contact: Jody Bennett, Work Based Learning Coordinator

We invite all families to a casual, informative Coffee Talk where we’ll discuss effective strategies for working together to support students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Whether you're new to the process or looking for new ideas, this is a great opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and learn how we can create stronger partnerships between home and school to help every student thrive.
Coffee and light refreshments will be provided – we hope to see you there!
School Safety and Security Informational Meeting
Want to know more about what it means for a school to be placed in a hold, shelter in place, evacuation, secure, or lockdown?
As a school, we often send out notifications that these things are occurring, but it can still be confusing to discern what level of threat or security concern exists if you don’t know what each of these means.
Join us for a community meeting to explain the language and procedures we use around school safety and security. Steve Brown, BVSD School Safety Advocate, will present the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) used by schools in BVSD and across the nation to ensure a safe environment for our students. Our goal is to provide parents with insights into what is being done during a school security response and to understand the language they may hear from the school or their students after an event.
Where: Monarch High School Library
When: Wednesday, December 11th
Time: 5:30 - 6:30pm
What: School safety & security briefing on the Standard Response Protocol (SRP)
