Edition #41 June 4, 2025
The Last Wednesday Message of the 24-25 School Year
A Message From Mr. Burns
Dear Salford Hills Families,
As we close the chapter on another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you—our students, families, and staff—for making this year one of growth, achievement, and community spirit. It has been a true privilege to witness the joy of learning and the strength of our Salford Hills family throughout the year.
Our students have accomplished so much this year, and I couldn’t be more proud. From academic milestones and creative projects to acts of kindness and leadership, our children have shown resilience, curiosity, and a passion for learning. Whether it was excelling in reading and math, participating in science activities, or showcasing their talents in music and art, our students have truly shined. Their hard work and dedication have made this year one to remember.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible Home and School Association. Your unwavering support, tireless efforts, and creative energy have enriched the lives of our students in countless ways. From organizing new and memorable events to supporting classroom lessons and activities, your partnership has helped create a vibrant and nurturing environment where our children can thrive. We are so grateful for all that you do.
To our outstanding 5th grade students—congratulations! As you prepare to take the next step in your educational journey at Indian Valley Middle School, know that you leave behind a legacy of leadership and friendship. We are so proud of the individuals you’ve become and excited for all the opportunities that await you. Remember, you will always be a part of the Salford Hills family!
Thank you all again for a wonderful year! I wish you all a safe, restful, and joyful summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall for another exciting year of learning and growth.
With gratitude,
Todd Burns

IVTV Summer Workshop for 5th Grade Students Transitioning to Indian Valley
Indian Valley TV Summer Camp
What is the TV Production Summer Workshop?
Your child will be learning about all the different roles and jobs involved in Indian Valley’s TV studio, called IVTV. It's like a mini-TV station right here at school! Beyond just watching, students will also get to learn the entire process of making their very own video, from start to finish. This means they'll learn all the steps involved in filmmaking, like:
- Coming up with an idea (pre-production)
- Filming (production)
- Editing the footage together (post-production)
- And finally, watching their finished video!
It's a great way for them to get hands-on experience with technology and creative storytelling!
When and where will it be?
Monday through Friday from 9am to 12pm at IVMS.
What weeks are still available?
- July 7th – July 11th – Music Week: Our focus this week is using a cool piece of equipment called a Tricaster. Think of the Tricaster as the brain of the TV studio – it lets us switch between different cameras, add graphics, and basically put together a live TV show. One of the main things we’ll be using the Tricaster for is to watch and showcase music videos created by the students this week.
- July 14th – 18th – Movie Week: Students will explore the different roles of film production, like writers, producers, and others, through the process of prompt and script writing and being a part of a film crew. They’ll put all these skills together by creating their very own video project from start to finish.
- July 21st – July 25th – Sports Week: Students will experience what it’s like to be a part of a live sports broadcast and post-game show. We will anchor live sporting events, create highlight reels, and conduct post-game interviews and analysis.
Feel free to reach out Brad Pukay at bpukay@soudertonsd.org with any questions!
