From the Principal's Desk
What an exciting few weeks it has been at Salt Creek Primary! Thank you to our many families who attended our open house and art show last week. Our students have been so excited to show off their work.
The Villa Park library stopped by and shared information about their summer reading program with all students. All Salt Creek students are able to participate in the Villa Park library programs. They have many prizes and event to engage students throughout the summer. Please see their flyer below for more information.
This week we also had a group of Willowbrook Warrior students spend the morning with our students. They read us a story, helped us with a craft project, and joined us for morning recess. Check out the pictures below, what a wonderful day connecting with our District 88 friends and a few Salt Creek Alumni!
Speaking of Salt Creek Alumni, a local family has experienced the great loss of their parents last week. See the flyer below if you are interested in donating to support a fellow Salt Creek family.
And last, but certainly not least, next week is teacher appreciation week! Thank you to FTC for organizing a variety of treats and snacks coming to school for our teachers and I encourage all parents and students to reach out and thank your teachers sometime next week! Even a simple email of appreciation means so much to our hard working staff. We are truly lucky to have such amazing teachers!
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend,
-Mrs. Scanlan
The Salt Creek School District 48 Viking family is collecting money to support Gabi & Alyssa Elguezabal, alumni of District 48, as they move forward after their unfortunate loss. Lunch Balances
Overdue Breakfast/ Lunch Balances
Don't forget to check and pay any overdue lunch balances. You can check balances and pay on your parent Skyward account. You can also send cash or check payment to school with your child in a marked envelope with name and what payment is for. The office will then account for the cash or check payment on your student's Skyward.
Late Arrivals
Attention Parents - School doors open at 7:40 am. There is no staff supervision prior to this time. Classes start at 7:50 am.
Students who come in late find it harder to establish a good morning routine at school. Teachers are beginning instruction and a late student is missing out. Thank you for your assistance in making sure your students arrive to school on time!

Please make sure to call the Salt Creek Primary Absentee line at 630-832-6122, press *4 if your child will be absent or arriving late. The school office will retrieve these messages every morning. If you have any doctor's notes, please send those with your student for the nurse's office.

I Love U Guys ❤️
Standard Response Protocol
Salt Creek District 48 has adopted a new emergency protocol response from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This is a program that has been adopted by many of the schools within DuPage County. Over the summer, the administrative team attended training on the protocol and is passing along the training to all staff. We also want to make families aware of the five different protocols so you can be familiar with the language you may hear your child or the school use.
Payments & Fees
TECHNOLOGY FEE 23/24 SCHOOL YEAR
You can make payment for your child's school fees through RevTrak by signing on to Skyward. If you do not see a tech fee in RevTrak please contact the school office your child will attend. Please see below for RevTrak payments. You can also come in and make payment by cash or check to any school in our district.
Thank you in advance.
A New Way to Pay Fees in Skyward
NO MORE E-PAY! We have rolled out a new way to pay for lunches, school fees and activity fees for students. You can sign up here https://saltcreek48.revtrak.net/. Or you can go to your parent portal in skyward, click on the fee payment tile, then in the far right hand top corner click on the "make online payments" button. This will take you to Revtrak. Make sure to sign up before you try to make payment. Once you can sign in, click the Make a Payment button in the middle of the page. This new service will streamline the payments so you can make a payment or set up recurring payments. This is directly connected to Skyward so you see the money immediately go to your child's account. If you have any questions please email or call your school office.
Preschool Payments: Once in Revtrak you will see in the upper right area an arrow next to SHOP. Click the arrow and pick Preschool in order for you to complete your payment. If you have any questions please email or call the Salt Creek school office.

Communication For When Your Child Is Absent
Please make sure to notify Angie Holden at Salt Creek Primary if your child will be absent, arriving late, or being dismissed early. It is helpful to contact your child's teacher in these matters as well, but it is very important to contact the office! If you have any doctor's notes, please send those to our health office staff.
