We are excited to host our first Scholastic Book Fair for the 2024-2025 School Year. This event is a joint venture with Mrs. McKeeman, our media specialist, and our PTA. Students will have a chance to visit the book fair during the week. We will also have after school hours on Wednesday and Thursday. Our PTA and Mrs. McKeeman can use some additional help so please consider signing up for a slot with the link below. Plus, our PTA will host a Family Read-In Night on Wednesday, November 13th. Please check below for more information.

The book fair is one way we celebrate literacy in our community. One of our most important responsibilities is to get quality literature into the hands of all our students both at home and in school. We hope you are able to stop the by the fair and participate in the Read-In.

With the holidays right around the corner I am sure many of you are looking for gifts for your students and your family members. Please consider Angell Spirit Wear. Join us for a FREE community showing of the documentary, “Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition,” the new version of the original Screenagers movie that addresses issues that elementary school aged kids, parents and educators are facing – smartwatches in class, unhooking from and monitoring video gaming, social media pressures and exposure too young. This screening is intended for parents and caregivers to learn about existing research around these topics and potential solutions to these and other challenges in order to address and support mental well-being in the digital age.

This event is free and open to the public. This movie is suitable for all ages but anyone under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Runtime Original Version: 55 Minutes

Please stop by our Fall Book Fair Reading Night sponsored by our Angell PTA. Our drop-in reading night will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 6 -7:30 pm. The book fair will be open for shopping in the media center as well (shopping hours are 3:15 pm - 8 pm)! Students will make a bookmark and cozy up with a good book in the gym. Students can either purchase a book or bring one from home. PJs, blankets, etc. are encouraged! Please RSVP by Tuesday, November 12th so we can plan accordingly, but this is an open event.

Our next Restaurant night will be Tuesday, November 19th, from 11:00 am - 8:00 pm at Little Lou’s Hot Chicken in Berkley.

15% of sales (dine in, catering, carry out) will be donated back to the PTA. Please mention Angell PTA when ordering. Third party ordering services such as Door Dash are not included.

What is Camp Invention?

A STEM summer camp where kids build creative inventions. Led by certified local educators, Camp Invention offers new and exciting hands-on activities every year for kids entering grades K-6.

This year’s brand-new program will illuminate imaginations, inspire curiosity and help kids build essential STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills through collaboration and problem solving. Picture retakes will be on Monday, November 11. If you have not ordered pictures, you may pre-order online at www.kaiserstudio.com using the code: 24ANGELL25. If you are not satisfied with your student's original picture package, have your student simply bring in their original package and a new picture and package will be delivered to school.

Parents are encouraged to volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips, and be a volunteer driver. In order to volunteer in the classroom or on school-sponsored functions, all parents or guardians must complete the Volunteer Release Form and be approved through the district process prior to any activities. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing.

New this year - Volunteer forms will be completed online (see button below). There is an option to fill out the Chaperone Section within the online Volunteer form. Driver forms must be completed using the usual paper copy format. Remember to submit a copy of your current driver's license and proof of insurance with ALL Driver Forms even if you submitted your driver's license online.

Volunteer forms must be completed every year. If you were an approved volunteer last year, you still must complete the process again for the 2024-2025 school year.

We are fortunate to have two talented music educators leading our music program this year. Mrs. Kathy Manuel and Ms. Maiuri. Mrs. Manuel also teaches at Burton Elementary and Ms. Maiuri teaches at Rogers Elementary, as well. We have made some adjustments to our performance calendar this year so please disregard any published dates that may appear on the district calendar. Moving forward please reference the dates below:
