Dance Team
We are so excited to offer an after-school dance opportunity to the current Junior High students! This year, we will have two opportunities to be a part of the dance team at the Junior High. While on the dance team, you will build upon the elements of dance while exploring the choreographic and performance process. Each group will spend eight weeks creating and learning two dances for the Salem Hills Dance Showcases. The groups will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 3:45 PM in the small Gym at SJHS. The first group will be from September 5th to November 5th, with the show on November 6th. The second group will be from February 11th to May 1st, with the show on May 2nd. Salem Junior High students are welcome to participate in one or both groups. There will be a fee of $20 for one session and $30 for both sessions which covers the performance fees and personal dance shirt. Contact Coach Johansen (amber.johansen@nebo.edu)
to sign up!
Chromebook Insurance
We are a one to one school so every student is issued a Chromebook for their school work. Chromebooks are 275$ to replace so parents/guardians are strongly recommended to purchase 30$ Chromebook insurance which can be purchased in the finance office or through myschoolfees.com. Insurance covers accidental damage. Last day to purchase insurance is September 4th.
Picture Day
You can purchase pictures by clicking the picture to the right. Use prepay code: SalemJH24. Picture retakes will take place on September 26th.
National Junior Honors Society
National Jr. Honor Society is a program for 6-9th graders. To be considered for membership, applicants must reach the five standards which include leadership, citizenship, character, service, and scholarship. This gives students the possibility of a scholarship and is a great resume booster. Students must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA at the end of last year to be eligible. Applications for the National Junior Honor Society are available in the counseling office and will be due by September 25th.
