Explanation of Professional Learning Hours and Graduate-Level Credits
The Nevada Department of Education mandates that teachers must accumulate 15 professional development hours annually (January-December). This requirement applies to all teacher licenses issued on or after July 1, 2019. For more details, please refer to the LICENSURE RENEWAL DOCUMENT.
Graduate-Level Credit through Southern Utah University (SUU)
Each graduate-level credit obtained equates to 15 professional learning hours and can be utilized for BOTH renewal and salary advancements. The cost for SUU Graduate-Level Courses is $23 per credit, payable directly to SUU. You will receive registration instructions from SUU prior to the course commencement. Creation Station
All Aboard the Creation Station Express! π Welcome to the Creation Station, where our dedicated technology specialist is your conductor on this technology-powered journey. Here, you will be provided with a structured environment to explore cutting-edge technology tools and dive deep into the art of crafting technology-infused lessons for educators. As passengers on this educational locomotive, you'll have the exciting opportunity to handpick five different projects from a diverse array of technology-based apps. These projects will serve as the building blocks for creating engaging activities that will ignite the imagination of your students. So, fasten your seatbelts, hold on to your digital tickets, and prepare to embark on a thrilling journey through the Creation Station!

Discovery Education Workshop
The Discovery Education Workshop is a comprehensive professional learning experience that builds capacity, community, and instructional leadership among educators as they dive deeper into Discovery Education. Connect with other participants through three professional learning sessions as you learn how to maximize the DE learning platform to support all learners. Following each session, participants will examine their learning by exploring Discovery Education and creating resources for their classroom.

The BrainPOP 101 Workshop will introduce participants to the many ways to use BrainPOP beyond a movie and a quiz. Discover all of BrainPOPβs playful resources, regardless of grade or subject. The workshop will give participants a better understanding of how BrainPOP supports learning.

In this book club we delve into 'Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics' by Pete Liljedahl. Explore innovative strategies and insights for transforming your math classroom into a dynamic hub of critical thinking, problem-solving, and engaged learning. This course will look at the 14 practices of a thinking classroom and give you opportunities to discuss with colleagues the practices and how to implement them. Join the club and build your thinking classroom!

The Cycle of Dynamic Change
The Cycle of Dynamic Change will allow participants to explore an instructional challenge with the aid of a digital coach, and the participant will investigate potential ways to tackle that challenge.
- The challenge will focus on instruction and technology integration.
- The goal is to identify a source of frustration for the teacher and to use this cycle to address it. The second phase of the process will be the investigation stage.
- Meetings before the project to set goals and create a project with a digital coach.
- Visiting classrooms to co-teach, model, and assist in instructional practices.
- Holding follow-up meetings with the participant to reflect on learning collected during the classroom visit and iterate on the strategy implementation.
