From the Desk of Mr. Henderson
Highland Families,
What an epic year of learning this has been! I was able to share a report with our School Board about our successes this year, and I highlighted students and their enthusiasm for our new learning about the world through Amplify CKLA, our knowledge-building literacy curriculum. This will be the best 6 minutes of your week, guaranteed:

Lake Stevens School District Bond
A Lake Stevens replacement school construction bond will expand and modernize aging schools, update safety and infrastructures districtwide.
On May 8, the school board passed a resolution to put a school construction bond on the Nov. 5, 2024 2024 ballot. This bond would fund capital projects across the district, including:
The school construction bond would allow LSSD to:
Build a new elementary school on district-owned land across from Stevens Creek Elementary School;
Build a secondary innovative learning center on district-owned land, at the south-end of the Mt. Pilchuck Elementary School property, to provide secondary students non-traditional learning opportunities;
Modernize and expand Glenwood and Skyline Elementary Schools in their current locations;
Modernize Lake Stevens Middle School and expand selected buildings; and
Make districtwide safety, security, health, educational, athletic and infrastructure improvements.
For more details, please visit www.lkstevens.wednet.edu/bond.
Washington state does not provide funding for the maintenance, modernization or construction of our school facilities. That is why we are asking the community to consider a bond. The funds from a bond can only be used for school facility projects. The November 2024 bond is part of a long-range facility plan to ensure our school buildings meet the 21st century needs of our students.
