EVERYONE LEARNING, EVERYONE LEADING
Dear Longacre Families,
We had a fun-filled Trunk or Treat on Friday! Special thank you to Jaclyn Arslanian, and her family, for organizing Friday's PTA Trunk or Treat and to all the families who creatively decorated their vehicles. It was wonderful to spend time together as a school community!
This Thursday, October 31st, we will celebrate Halloween with a parade through our school that begins at 10:30 a.m. As promised, I will moon walk through the hallways wearing a space suit seeing that we exceeded our Fun Run goal! Parents are invited to line up inside in the cafeteria hallway and/or outside on the sidewalk by the main office. Students are invited to wear a costume to school for the parade. If your child chooses to wear a costume, we ask that it is something that is easily put on over his/or clothing. Costumes should not be scary and no masks, props/toy weapons of any kind or inflatable costumes will be allowed.
The parade will end in the gym with our Fun Run celebration because our school surpassed our goal!! The PTA board will announce the top winners and distribute prizes. Thursday, October 31st is a half-day of school, dismissal is at 11:45 a.m. and lunch will not be served.
As your children go out and collect their treats on Halloween, please remember that Longacre is a Nut Restricted school. This means that no food/candy containing peanuts, tree nuts or sesame are allowed in the building. This also means that no food/candy that was processed/ manufactured on shared equipment or in a shared facility is allowed at school. Thank you for taking the time to read labels and for keeping unsafe items at home.
As always, feel free to contact me or our main office at 248-489-3733 if you have any questions or need assistance.
With Longacre Pride,
Rhonda Henry, Principal

They also provided a fire prevention resource for families. Click on the link box below to view.

We are excited to share the 7 Habits® with our families. We invite you to use the menu below to select a habit to focus on each week for the next 20 weeks.
For weeks 21–40, return to the top of the menu and challenge your family to focus on the habit not selected the first time around. Consider keeping a family journal to reflect on your learning or track your efforts with photos.
