"Empowering Students to Design Their Own Future"

April Newsletter
Dear RHTA Families,
One of the things I love most about our schools is that they provide one of a kind experiences that ensure real world connections and deep learning. I had the amazing opportunity to join our High School STEM classes as a chaperone on a trip to Greece over spring break. I enjoyed reconnecting with our past RHTA learners and witnessing their enthusiasm and love of learning. A love of learning that I like to think was nourished during their time at RHTA. As we approach the end of the school year, I hope that each and every one of authentic PBL experiences and community immersions inspire that same passion in our current learners. Let's make the most of every minute!

Ohio State Testing
Two days down of testing and our learners have absolutely done a wonderful job! Please remember to check the testing days and schedule. Learners should not arrive late or leave before testing has been completed on testing days. Also, it is very important that they have their chromebook fully charged. Thank you!
PBIS
Office Referals

Congratulations to our February Learners of the Month! Here is our March Ranger STRONG presentation for grades grades 5-8.
Learner of the Month (3-4)
Spring Panorama Survey
Building our social-emotional learning skills is an essential goal for our schools. In December 2024, students in grades 3-8 took the Fall Student Competency and Wellbeing Survey. During the school year, students participated in social-emotional learning lessons from Character Strong to better understand the social-emotional learning concepts in the survey and to reflect on how they perceive these skills in themselves. We will ask your child to take the survey again in May to ensure the programming was effective. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on themselves in the following areas: emotion regulation, self-management, and social awareness.
The Spring survey will be administered on 5/5/25. If you would like to opt your child out of participating in the survey, please fill out the opt out form by 4/29/25.
If you have any questions about the Competency and Wellbeing survey, please don’t hesitate to contact Liz Wolanski, Student Wellness and Prevention Coordinator, at elizabethwolanski@nrcs.net or (440) 329-1883.
Parent Input
Please fill out this parent survey so that we can get input on our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support System at RHTA! Thank you to those parents who have already provided input!
SB29- The Education Record and Student Privacy Bill
Did you know that Senate Bill 29 went in effect this year? It prohibits public school districts from accessing or monitoring various types of data collected by technology. This means that we can no longer check chromebook history or student emails to ensure on task behavior or address emotional and behavior concerns. Coaches can address concerns that they observe or learners/parents can contact us to share concerns.
What this means for parents...
- It is important to monitor your learner's browsing history and emails on their chromebooks. Here is a great video I found on YouTube that explains how to check chrome history. Please stop the video at 1:40, because the rest is not accurate.
- If you notice something concerning, please reach out and share this with your learner's coaches.
- If you would like us to investigate something on your child's chromebook we would need permission, in writing, to do so.
Thank you for your help and support!
Request for Assistance
If you have concerns that you need help with, please fill out this form. This should not be used for emergency situations. In case of an urgent matter, please reach out directly to the school.

Reminders
- Please check Dojo for ongoing information from coaches. Grades 5-8 are working toward earning an end of the year reward trip. This is a wonderful way to encourage and celebrate Ranger STRONG behavior!
- Learners should wear the shirts provided by PTO when they are going on Community Immersions. These will also be worn for Field Day. If your learner lost their shirt please contact us and we will provide you information on how to purchase a new one.
- When you pick up learners in the car rider line please pull all the way up. We have blocked traffic on Lear Road on several occasions resulting in unsafe conditions.
- Now is a great time to review the parent student handbook for the code of conduct and dress code expectations.
- If you are not receiving the weekly morning meeting slideshow please reach out. This provides our learners with a snapshot of the important events and reminders each week.
- We are required by the state to have a certain number of fire, tornado, and intruder (lockdown) drills. These are just drills. If there is a real emergency you will be notified. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support!
