LOST & FOUND
Last Chance for Lost & Found!
If your student is missing any items, please check our lost and found. All Lost & Found items will be donated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Tardies/Absences/Appointments
- Tardies: Our first bell rings at 7:50AM. This is the time when students are allowed to go to their lockers, get a breakfast and go inside their classrooms. Students must be in their classrooms by 8:05AM.
- Absences: If your student is going to be absent from school, the Bennett Office must be notified by 8:30AM. If we do not hear from you, our office will be calling to check the whereabouts of your child....your child's safety is always our number one concern. Being on time and having good attendance is crucial for learning. When a child is habitually absent/tardy, there is a negative impact on learning.
- Early Pickup: If you need to pick up your child during the day, please come to the office to sign he/she out. The office will call your child out of his/her classroom. Due to district policy, we are unable to call your child out of the classroom before you have arrived at the school.
Please remember, if your student will be absent, the school needs to be informed by 8:30 AM.
Information Needed: Student's First & Last Name, Teacher, and reason for their absence.

5th Grade Music Experience & Band Fittings
5th Grade Music Experience Day is on February 3rd at 9:00am. On this day, 5th graders will be bussed to Discovery for a performance by the Choir, Band and Orchestra. Students will also learn about their music class options when they are 6th graders. Read the attached letter about music class options in middle school. Also, if your child is interested in trying a band instrument, there will be a band fitting night on February 4th from 4:15-8:00pm where 5th graders can try band instruments at Discovery. Use this link https://ptcfast.com/schools/dmsband to register for the instrument fitting time that works best for you. Contact Matt Salzer at salzerm@fargoschools.org if you have questions.

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration Opens February 3!
Going to kindergarten is important for children. It helps them build upon all the learning that they have done so far. In kindergarten, children will learn skills they will build on throughout their formal education and throughout life. It is important to register early to allow FPS enough time to plan ahead for the school year to give students the best experience possible.
Kindergarten Registration for Fargo Public Schools opens on February 3. If your child turns 5 by July 31, 2025, they are eligible to attend school in the fall. Visit FPS kindergarten registration webpage to learn more about the registration process.
