FCE EOY SUMMARIES
APRIL 29TH - MAY 17TH
Ensure all support documentation has been uploaded to your FCE Google Folders BEFORE your upcoming EOY Summary & Review.
Academic Partnering is a collaboration between teachers and families to ensure students are successful in school. Families can engage in their child’s academic math and reading grade-level goals, by learning how to support their child at home. Contact FCE Coordinator Marlene Yepez to schedule an information session and teacher training. As of this posting, 17 campuses and 362 families have participated in an Academic Partnering session. That is a 40% increase since this time last year. Congratulations FCE!
The Office of Family and Community Engagement continues to respond to the changing needs of our families, including those in crisis. F.R.O.G. provides on-the-spot services including Parent Portal and Uniform Assistance, and as an extra incentive a PRIZE WHEEL! As of this posting, FROG ends the school year serving 22 campuses and 770 families!

POC SPOTLIGHT!
KEN RABAGO-FERNANDEZ - DAN D. ROGERS ES - REGION III
Mr. Ken Rabago-Fernandez is a native Texan, born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from UT-San Antonio with a degree in Business Administration. Immediately following graduation, he moved to Dallas to work for AT&T for the next 15 years. There he was recruited by Communities in Schools to mentor Dallas ISD students. After a few years of mentoring, he decided to switch professions by enrolling in Region 11’s Alternative Certification program.
His 21 year elementary teaching experience in Dallas ISD has included: computer lab and 5th Grade Science teacher at Maple Lawn ES, Campus Instructional Coach for Science at Rogers ES, Elementary Science Curriculum Coordinator in Dallas ISD STEM department. Mr. Rabago-Fernandez retirement in 2021 due to the COVID work overload.
He enjoyed retirement, briefly, working some part-time jobs for entertainment, then in the summer of 2023, the Principal at Rogers called to offer him a part-time Community Liaison position. He LEAPED at the opportunity to return to his former campus to support students, parents, families, and staff members with the support of the surrounding community. Ken met his husband, David, in 1997, and married in 2016. They enjoy quiet times at home, vacationing on cruise ships, gambling, and spending time with their 2 grandchildren, Zoe and Max, who live in Maryland. He is extremely grateful to have the opportunity, again, to help make a difference in the lives of Dallas ISD children and families.
