Elements' Family Weekly
May 3, 2024
Principal's Message
Dear FSE Families,
Welcome to May! We had another fun-filled week of learning and growing at FSE! There are so many positive things going on.
Here are a few I would like to share… thanks to our counsellor, Ms. Pieterse, who generously donates her lunch time to invite students to come to the library during their lunch recess so students can enjoy Minecraft Monday, Wellness Wednesday, and Friendship Friday!
Shhhhh…our music teacher, Mr. Booker, is secretly working with students to create a talent show for our school community in late June. Not to worry, more information will be coming out shortly!
Our Connection to Land Club continues to meet each Monday as they are caring for seedlings in preparation for planting once the weather cooperates. Thank you to Ms. Grismer and Ms. Zapesocki for supporting this initiative for our students!
Our appreciation goes out to Ms. Percy and Ms. Buhler who are also continuing to support students in building their track skills during lunch recesses. We can’t wait to see them show off all their hard work at the upcoming EIPS Track Meet!
A friendly reminder that we are celebrating Bus Driver Appreciation Day Monday, May 6, so be sure to thank your drivers for getting our students to and from school safely!
Next week is also Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme is “healing with compassion”. There are many activities going on in classrooms to highlight the fact that compassion connects us all! If you or anyone you know needs support please reach out to the resources provided at the bottom of the Elements’ Family Weekly. For additional resources or to learn more about Mental Health Awareness Week check out the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Wishing everyone a restful, rejuvenating weekend with time spent with loved ones!
As always, if you have any questions, please email me directly at shelby.labrecque@eips.ca or call 780-998-7771, during regular business hours.
Kind regards,
Shelby Labrecque, M. Ed.

E-scooters, Scooters, & Bikes
As the warmer weather is upon us, many students are beginning to ride their bikes, scooters, and e-scooters to school. These modes of transportation should be locked up using the racks available outside of the school. For the sake of everyone's safety we ask students to walk their chosen mode of transportation once they are on school grounds as it can be very congested at the beginning and end of the school day. Fort Saskatchewan Elementary School is not responsible for any damage or loss that may occur. At this time, we are also not able to accommodate charging e-scooters while at school. Thank you for your support in keeping our school community safe!
Download the new My Ride K-12 app!
The student transportation routing and planning software used by the Division is getting an app update! The new My Ride K-12 app, which is replacing Ride 360, helps families stay up to date on your child’s bus schedules, route times and scans. Download My Ride K-12 from the App Store or Google Play by April 30.
