Thunderbird Update

Thunderbird Families,
Thank you for having your kiddo's at school this past week. Absenteeism was low meaning that very few make-up tests will have to be given. We are finishing up MOY iReady assessments this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Please remind your students to charge their computers and bring them to school everyday.
The end of the semester will be here before you know it. Please check with your student and encourage them to turn in any missing work. All late work needs to be submitted by Friday, December 13th, as we will be taking finals next week. There will be tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday if they need help with any missing work. However, it is the students responsibility to come to tutoring with those assignments. This will be the last week of tutoring for this semester.
Congratulations to our English Spelling Bee winners. We had 41 students participate in the Spelling Bee. 7th grader, Jake G. came in first place and will represent Zia in the LCPS District Spelling Bee on January 17th. 2nd place was 8th grader Ryan W. and 3rd place was 7th grader Angelica A. Congratulations...we are so proud of all our students that participated!
Congratulation to all 3 basketball teams that made it to the playoffs. Mr. Pirtle's team played in the B-Team Championship and brought home the BLUE! Great job girls! Also, good luck to Mr. Lincecum and the boys soccer team that will be playing in the City Championship on Saturday, December 14th! Lets bring home the win to be back-to-back Champions!
All City Honors Band had auditions on Saturday. We had 15 amazing students make the 2024-2025 All City Honor Band! We are extremely proud of all students that auditioned and spent many hours preparing for this audition. All City results are below.
