A message from our Principal
Sailor Families,
December brings about a busy time for all, both in and out of school. We have been working hard to keep focused on our goals and growing as leaders. Here are just some quick updates from the Principal’s desk.
New Digital Sign
At some point this week, our sign out front will be removed. In January, we will be getting a digital sign which will look great and be able to share a lot of news, and be more efficient in updating. This new sign is funded through the last referendum that we had as part of building upgrades. Our goal is to continue to do our best in communicating with our parents, so this new sign will definitely help with that.
Next Week
There are only four school days next week and we are going to try to pack it all in. In addition to all of the learning activities, there are some really cool activities that we have planned. Some of those activities are:
Dress up days Monday-Thursday
Winter Market for kids during the day on Tuesday
Winter Market family fun event Tuesday evening
BP Vocal Ensemble to sing on Wednesday (and an assembly before it)
Movies and celebration for kids on Thursday
Continued learning throughout:)
To learn more about these things, keep reading our newsletter
Enjoy your week,
Tony Ebeling, Principal
WINTER MARKET
Bay Harbor will be bringing back our own version of a Winter Market this December 19th during the school day! All students will get a chance to create a craft, hear a read aloud, and listen to student-led entertainment while they enjoy hot apple cider under twinkling lights surrounded by festive winter scenery. We are asking students to bring $1.00 to purchase their craft which they will be able to gift wrap for a family member. The money collected will be donated to a local organization chosen by our students and staff.
We would love to have holiday music playing during this event to match markets that are held all over the world. If your child is able to play the piano or another instrument, and could play some songs for the market, please let their teacher know! We will add them to the schedule and help enhance the Winter Market experience.
COCOA AND COOKIES
In addition, Bay Harbor is hosting a Cocoa and Cookies that same evening. If your child is available and willing to showcase their talents that night sometime between 6:00pm-7:30pm, please let their teacher know as well. Thank you!

Tennis Shoes Needed
Gently used tennis shoes are needed to restock the physical education shoe box. Please send all donated shoes to school with your child.
Both girls and boys shoes are needed - all sizes. Shoes in the shoe box are used by students who forget or whose shoes become wet at recess. Thank you!
Does your child love to sing? Then they should join us for Pirates in Harmony. Pirates in Harmony is a performance opportunity for 4th-8th grade students to come together, learn new music, and perform together. Students will have the opportunity to sing and perform with other students throughout the Howard-Suamico School District as well as work with the 5-12 choral music staff and high school choral students.
Pirates Harmony will take place Saturday, January 20 from 10:00-3:30. Lunch will be provided (Pizza, water, and dessert) and all participants will receive a t-shirt. Cost is $20. Pre-registration is required. Registration closes Friday, January 4.
