Math with Mrs. Skiba

I have a class website where students and guardians can quickly access information. You will be able to see our class calendar, daily notes and links to newsletters. Additionally, I have created an Amazon Class Wish List. I have told students if they feel that anything should be added to our classroom to let me know and I will add it. I will be continually adding items throughout the year. Please do not feel obligated to make a purchase, but all donations are appreciated. Continual desired items include antibacterial wipes, kleenex, pencils and lined paper.

This week we started Chapter 1: Adding and Subtracting Integers. We took notes on Lesson 1: Rational Numbers. Students had their first Big Ideas assignment. It is due on Monday.

I also entered some grades. If your student is missing assignments, they are still able to complete them and turn them in for 8/10 points. They can find them google classroom.

Next week we will continue with Chapter 1. We will study Lessons 1.2: Adding Integers and Lesson 1.3: Adding Rational Numbers. The Chapter 1 Lessons 1.1-1.3 Quiz will be next Friday, September 23rd. This will be worth 50 points.

This week we began Chapter 1: Equations. We took notes on Lesson 1.1: Solving Simple Equations. Students started their first Big Ideas assignment. We will continue working on it with our teams on Monday. It is due on Tuesday.

All dates are subject to change as lessons are student driven. Extra time may be spent on concepts as needed which would move back quiz and test dates.
