Hello Trimmier families,

It is hard to believe we are already in May. This school year has gone by so fast. We are finishing the year with lots of activities planned. This week our students are participating in STEAM day. It is a full day of science fun. Teachers have some amazing activities planned all day. This is also the day we have our cereal box challenge. Thank you so much to those that have already donated and for those that are still donating. We love the students' excitement setting up and watching the boxes fall like dominoes down the hall. Once the event is over, the Killeen Food center receives the donated boxes, so your donations serves double duty.

May 10th, we have our annual Field Day. Please see letter about event below. This day we are allowing parents to join us in the morning from 8-11 am. The day is so much fun for students. They love all the PE activities leading up to the event. The competitive spirit is high on this day, but so is the sportsmanship.

The last week of school we have the awards ceremonies as well as the kinder and 5th grade graduation events. I absolutely love celebrating student achievement and sending our 5th graders off to middle school ready to take on the world.

And lastly, the month of May is teacher appreciation month. I may be biased, but I believe we have some of the best teachers in KISD. Please consider having your student write a note of appreciation to their teachers sometime this month. Those notes bring smiles to our faces.

Tardy Policy

We appreciate all of our parents supporting the learning process by emphasizing the importance of arriving on time for school. If a student should accumulate tardies, the following tardy policy will be followed each semester during the school year:

Definition of Tardy: Tardy is defined as not being at the assigned location when the tardy bell rings at 7:30 AM.

Morning Arrival Procedures

Morning drop off- Parents can drop off car rider students on the side of the school facing Excel Drive.

Morning walk up- If you plan to walk your student up to the front door, you must park your car and walk with your student to the front door. There is no student drop off in the front of the school.

Any student arriving after the tardy bell at 7:30 must be escorted into the building.
