Superintendent's Report
Dr. Paul Gordon shares updates on District initiatives as well as school, staff and student activities.
Recognizing Outstanding D303 Students
Dr. Gordon and the School Board celebrated the accomplishments of East High School Students Kyna Patel and Ameya Yammanuru, who were winners of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge, for their Safety Quest app, which helps prepare students to respond to a health emergency.
Also celebrated were students from two music ensembles from North High School who were recognized at the state level for being a model music education program. The ensembles were invited to perform for thousands of music teachers at the Illinois Music Education Conference in Peoria.

Videos are produced by the Communications Department and the highlights are also shared in
various ways across the District's platforms, including social media and electronic newsletters.
The video shared on February 10 provided a snapshot of activities from January 2025.
Reports to the Board
Learning & Teaching and Business Services Committee Meetings
Board Member Becky McCabe reported on the Learning & Teaching Committee meeting:
- The committee received an update on math instruction and strategies;
- Dr. Gordon provided an update on the changes to world language offerings in District 303; and
- Executive Director of Student Services Laurel O'Brien presented a request to purchase new software to help improve the district's process for creating Individualized Education Programs. That item was approved as part of the consent agenda listed below (2024-2025 IEP Goalbook Toolkit Contract).
Board Vice President Thomas Lentz reported that the Business Services Committee reviewed regular reports on the budget and briefly discussed some changes to school fees. Several of those items are also included in the consent agenda below.

The next meeting of the Learning & Teaching and Business Services Committees will be a combined meeting to take place on Monday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m.
District PTO
Board Member Kate Bell gave an update on the January meeting of the District PTO. Topics covered included ideas for spring fundraisers and a discussion of the changes to world-language options at D303 middle schools.

Board Member Meeting Registration
All Board member expense requests must be approved by a roll call vote. Board Member Kate Bell will attend the Kishwaukee Division Meeting on February 27, 2025. The registration cost for the meeting is $37.
Personnel Resolution
The Board passed a resolution regarding the non-renewal and reassignment of an administrator.
