Class lists will be posted on Bagby’s webpage and in front office windows at 5 PM on Tuesday, August 13th. No matter the classroom your child is placed in this year, you can be assured that they will have a teacher who will provide them with an excellent educational experience and a caring environment to support their growth and development.
Enrollment
The word is out-Bagby is a great school! As such we are growing and have waitlists of families trying to join our terrific community. Please keep in mind that during the first few weeks of school our enrollment is in a transition period, and there may be changes to class assignments as student enrollment stabilizes. If changes are necessary, we will do our very best to take into consideration the needs of each student.
First Days of School
Your child’s first day of school is Thursday, August 15th.
Daily Arrival
Gates (Cafeteria & Main Office along Harris Ave.) will open at 8:05 AM. Students will be welcomed to their classrooms beginning at 8:15 AM. For safety our playgrounds and equipment are off-limits before school.
Gate Access Change 24/25:
Due to safety concerns for arriving pedestrians and increased staff use of Curtner parking lot there will be NO Campus Access through Curtner Parking Lot Gate during arrival/dismissal. This lot and gate are ONLY for Staff campus access.
Please give yourself and child additional time to arrive through Harris Ave. gates daily
During Extended Care operation hours, program access will continue through EC portable gate.
Families are welcome to accompany their children to their classrooms beginning at 8:05 AM. Families must promptly exit campus through the Harris gates immediately following the 8:15 AM bell so that campus can be promptly secured for safety.

Daily your child and their classmates will be brought by their teacher to the lawn in front of the office for dismissal at the times listed above. Please arrive during your child’s dismissal window for pickup as it takes us all doing our part to ensure that every child is reunited with their family safely and efficiently.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Procedures
Please review the Bagby Arrival & Dismissal Map (2024-25) carefully. Our procedures have not changed but (as always) we need your help. We are a busy, growing school, and congestion on Harris and Leigh Avenues at arrival and dismissal times is an ongoing challenge. Please give yourself plenty of time to get to and from school as it will take each and every one of us to help keep our kids, staff, and neighbors safe.
If doing vehicle pickup be sure to have your student pickup placard clearly displayed on the front dash. These will be sent home on the first days of school.
Campus Safety
Campus safety is an ongoing top priority for the Cambrian School District and our school community. Access to the campus during the school day is available only through the school office where we will request that you sign in and get a badge if you will be on the school grounds.
Home & School Club and Volunteering
One of the core strengths of Bagby is our solid home-school partnerships. Our Home and School Club contributes in so many positive ways to our school culture and supports our students, staff, and families. If you are already active, thank you for your continued support!
If you are new to Bagby or you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, please do. During our TK/K Campus Welcome and Back to School Night, please come learn more about HSC opportunities. Your child’s teacher is another important source of volunteer opportunities. They each will be sharing in the coming weeks how you can support your child’s classroom. There is a job for everyone – big or small! We look forward to having you join this group of amazing volunteers.
Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS)
Bagby is a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) school. This is a comprehensive behavioral system that empowers all children to make positive choices. Our expectations for all students and adults at Bagby, the Bagby B’s, are:
Be Safe
Be Responsible
Be Respectful
Choose Kind!
Whenever an opportunity arises to problem solve with a student, we approach the problem through the “lens” of our “B’s.” I hope you will discuss these expectations regularly with your child to help reinforce what they are learning at school.
Back to School Night-Thursday, August 29th (6:00-8:00)
I hope each Bagby family can attend our Back-To-School Night on Thursday, August 29th, beginning at 6:00 PM. This is a significant opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and continue to build the vital home-school partnership that drives student success and growth.
School & District Communications
Additional communications will be coming in the upcoming days and weeks from CSD and from Bagby staff. Please ensure that you are frequently checking your email or reading SMS linked messages for important reminders and updates regarding the start of the 24/25 school year.
Daily Family Routines
It is critical that your family start shifting daily routines in order to adjust back to our school schedule. Starting early bedtimes and early wake-ups NOW will make the evenings and mornings of the first days of school much easier for both you and your children.
I look forward to a great 24-25 school year with all of our Barracudas!
In Partnership,
Michael
