Superintendent Community Update
Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
I hope that you had a restful winter break and are ready to take on the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year!
As January marks National School Board Appreciation Month, I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and express our heartfelt gratitude to our JUHSD Board of Trustees. Their invaluable support for the students, staff, and families of this remarkable educational community is truly appreciated. The vision and dedication they bring to providing equitable access to education for all students do not go unnoticed. On behalf of the entire Jefferson Union High School District, we thank them for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and service.
School boards play a crucial role in shaping the foundation, policies, and priorities of our district. These individuals are everyday citizens performing extraordinary work to lead and support our schools. Their efforts create opportunities that empower our students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
We invite our community to join us in celebrating and appreciating the impactful contributions of these exceptional leaders.
Thank you, Board of Trustees, for everything you do to make our district a place where students succeed and dreams become reality.
Happy New Year!
With gratitude,
Toni Presta

Immigrant Legal Resource: Family Preparedness Plan
Every family should have a Family Preparedness Plan in case of an emergency. It is critical for immigrant families to think ahead and set more concrete plans for immigration emergencies that can arise. See the Immigrant Legal Resource Center's Family Preparedness Plan.

Thornton High School
Thornton High School kicked off the 3rd quarter with their first school-wide Circle, led by teacher Ed Lopez and the Wilderness students. Together, they encouraged reflection on how the choices we make in the new year can result in both positive and negative outcomes. Each Wednesday, THS homerooms take turns facilitating the Circle, fostering Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) as they share announcements, celebrate achievements, and give shout-outs to one another.
