Welcome Kelly Arient- LifeSkills AIde
Hi, my name is Kelly Arient. I was born and raised in Montana. I moved to Texas with my husband, Cecil and two boys(Cecil and Hudson) in 2019 to escape the colder climates.
My family and I love to travel, watch movies, play sports, and try new restaurants.
We are a blended family. I have two bonus daughters that I adore. One of my daughters resides in Texas and the other in The Netherlands.
I’ve worked in the retail industry for 24 plus years. I love working with all ages and decided a change would be good for family life. I love kids and new adventures. Here I am, blessed to be working with all of you and the Community.
Welcome Val Reissig- ARD Facilitator
My name is Val Reissig and I’m excited to be a new member of the Viola Wilson Elementary School family. My husband and I, along with our 2 children, moved to Boerne a little over 30 years ago from Houston. Both our son and daughter graduated from Boerne High School, finished college, married, and then had the most fabulous kids ever born (our five grandchildren, of course!). I received my Education Certification from the University of Houston and afterwards spent my time as a busy mom, wedding coordinator, and community volunteer. It wasn’t until we moved to Boerne that I started my full-time teaching career. I’ve been a Special Education Resource Math/Reading Teacher, and eventually led a Student Assistance Center at Boerne Middle School North. While this year marks my 27th year in education (the last five as an ARD Facilitator), I continue to love working with parents and teachers in order to provide the very best specialized plan for children with individual educational needs.
Welcome Anjanette Carr- Gifted & Talented
My name is Anjanette Carr. I've been teaching for 20 years, most of them in the Dallas area. I graduated with a bachelor's in business administration from Sam Houston and received my master's degree in education from Ottawa State University. I enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I have taught K-7 and am excited to be a part of Boerne ISD!

Class Assignments
Teacher assignments will be posted in Skyward in the next couple of weeks. Please know that you may be able to view your child's schedule with an assigned teacher soon, however, there are movements that take place for various reasons up until Meet the Teacher begins. Class lists will be finalized around 4:00/4:30 on Thursday, August 8th. Please do not reach out to teachers in the meantime. They too know that rosters are not finalized yet and are busy prepping their classrooms for this upcoming amazing year. 😉
As a parent one thing to consider is taking the time to talk up all of our teachers, not just the ones a previous sibling may have had or one you've heard about, and also talk about the opportunities they have to make additional friends this year as their current ones may not be in the same class. This will help ease some of those beginning of year anxieties that many students have. Our students will be interacting with all teachers and students in their grade level throughout the year, so the sooner they feel comfortable, the better.
When class lists are released, please know that a class change will not be granted at this time.
Meet the Teacher
VWES will be on Thursday, August 8th. This is a come and go event to drop off your students' school supplies, meet and say hello to your new teacher(s), fill out first week information, pick up car tags, join PTO and much more! I hope everyone can join us! If your child has any first day jitters, this is a great way to meet your teacher prior to the first day of school and learn where to go.
We will continue to have 2 time periods. This will help with parking, traffic, and classroom overcrowding. Families in Pre-K to 2 will have a come and go event from 5:30-6:30 p.m. 3rd to 5th will have a come and go event from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. The overall goal of staggering is to help with parking and traffic.
We will be moving and the school and classrooms may not look completely ready. Please note that all staff may not be in the building until August 5th or later.
Pre-K and Kinder First Day of School Walk-In Procedure
We know that the first day of school is an exceptional time for everyone, especially for students who have never been to school. Elementary parents of our Pre-K and Kinder students can drop off their child curbside through the drive-through beginning at 7:00 AM, or walk them to their classroom at 8:00 AM. We will get all 1st-5th grade students into the building and settled before we begin having PK/KG families come in.
This is for Day 1 ONLY. Beginning Day 2, we will move to our regular drop off procedures. More info coming soon!
We want to thank the parents and guardians of students in our upper grades for understanding that we cannot safely extend this opportunity to all grade levels. If you are a parent or guardian of a Pre-K or Kinder student and would like to walk your child to their classroom on the first day, please complete the guest pre-check in the form linked below.
PreK and Kinder Walk-in:
By completing the linked form, you allow us to use the information to conduct a security verification through our visitor management portal, Raptor. Once cleared, we will preprint your visitor label, which you will collect at the pre-check-in station on the day of the event. Thank you in advance for helping to keep our schools safe for our students and staff!
- Complete the guest pre-check-in form for each guest (Limit 2 adults). Please click on the following link:
- Pre-Check link will expire on August 7th to allow time for processing and printing of badges. It is very important that you have completed this by 8/7, otherwise parents will need to raptor in with their IDs on the morning of August 12th. August 12th is an extremely busy day for all staff and the front office team especially. If you have not been able to pre-check, we ask for your patience as the team will be doing many different things to ensure our students are settled.
- Arrive at the campus before 8 AM. Walk-Ins will not be allowed before 8 AM.
- We will use the front parking lot and entry for parents walking students in.
- Park your vehicle and collect your premade badge at the designated Pre-K & Kinder Pre-Check-In area (Look for signage)
- Each adult must present a photo id to receive a badge.
- Once you receive a badge, enter the building and walk your child to the classroom door. (We ask adult guests not to enter the classroom with the child).
- Please take a moment to enjoy big hugs, high fives, share encouragement, and watch them walk into the room.
- When exiting, please drop your visitor badge off at our office.
Please help us make this day a success by only walking your pre-K and Kinder child to the classroom. Upper-grade students should enter the building with their classmates and walk to class independently at their regular arrival time.
All adults 16+ will need to bring their ID with them.

YMCA for Viola Wilson
If your child is enrolled in YMCA, the current plan is for them to go to Kendall Elementary after school for the 2024-2025 school year. Your children would ride a bus from Viola Wilson and they will need to be picked up from Kendall after school. Historically, new campuses do not provide after school care during the inaugural year due to the building warranty.
