Attendance
Please Call The Attendance Line or Fill Out The Absence Form When Your Student Will Be Absent Or Late
If your student will be absent or will be late to school, please call the CCE Attendance Line at (303) 387-6177 or click on 24-25 Absence Form.
Friendly Reminders from the Attendance Team:
It is CCE’s intention to be proactive and to collaborate with families regarding attendance. As a result, courtesy emails will continue to be sent to families when a student is approaching 10% absenteeism. According to federal law, a student absent 10 percent or more of the days enrolled during the school year is considered chronically absent. This includes tardies as well as both excused and unexcused absences. Please try to plan family vacations during school breaks to support your student’s attendance. We know health issues have impacted many students and staff in January so please continue to communicate with us so we can support your family as needed.

Kindergarten/ 1st Grade Gifted Identification Referral Testing If your child is in K or 1st grade and you believe he/she needs an evaluation for Gifted Identification and Services, you may refer your child for testing by initiating the Gifted Identification Process. NOTE: Requesting this assessment automatically initiates the process to evaluate for Gifted Identification. Please request Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) testing for your child by completing the Referral for Gifted Identification linked HERE CogAT testing for Kindergarteners and 1st graders will most likely be the week of February 3rd. Upon receipt of this form the Gifted Education Facilitator will connect with you to discuss next steps in the gifted identification process.
Attention 2nd Grade Families
DCSD is committed to implementing equitable practices to increase access to advanced/gifted learning opportunities. Based on state and national recommendations and requirements, we implement Universal Screening for students in 2nd grade in February. As part of this process, ALL students in 2nd grade who have not been identified for gifted programming will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) the week of February 3rd. This assessment indicates the level and pattern of cognitive development of a student in comparison to grade and age mates. These general reasoning abilities, which start developing at birth and continue through early adulthood, are influenced by experiences gained both in and out of school. If your child is already identified for gifted programming, they will not participate in this universal screen testing. Your Gifted Education Facilitator will contact you directly with more detailed information about this process. Please see the following for additional information linked below:
