SGB Week Ahead
September 5th - 6th
Welcome Back!
Dear SGB Families,
We are so excited to start off our new school year at St. Gregory Barbarigo School! I hope you all had an opportunity to recharge, rest, and reconnect with loved ones.
As we begin the school year and bring summer to a close, I think of how I sometimes feel when I'm at the beach, lake or pool...when I'm ready to jump in and swim (because I love swimming) but putting my toe in makes me hesitate. It's so normal for our students to have all the feelings right now as they are about to transition into their new school year. They may be excited to get back to school and see their friends and teachers...but also hesitant or nervous with the idea of the work or challenges that come with it.
Make space for all the feelings in your home. Encourage your children to get a good night sleep and remember how fortunate they get to start fresh and create a new year! Remind them that the SGB Staff is here to support, guide, and help them succeed.
We've got them.
We've got you.
We are thrilled you have chosen a Catholic Education for your child/children.
We will do everything possible to make it a wonderful school year at St. Gregory Barbarigo School!
God bless,
Ms. Clarke
First Day of School Info (Grades K-8)
Supplies
Many SGB students received a list of school supplies they will need for the new school year. Students are welcome to bring them in gradually so they are not overwhelmed with all their items on the first day.
If your child did not receive a list of school supplies, all K-8 Students should have the following:
1. Backpack (labeled with your child's first and last name)
2. Lunch box (labeled with your child's first and last name)
3. Water Bottle (labeled with your child's first and last name)
SGB has refillable stations where students can refill their water bottles as needed.
Uniforms
K-8 Students will begin the year in their FALL SCHOOL UNIFORM. (see list on our website)
PreK & UPK students are invited to wear the SGB Gym Uniform. (optional)
The SGB GYM UNIFORM consists of an SGB Tshirt, sweatshirt, shorts and/or sweatpants. Go to our uniform company if you'd like to order items.
Uniform items will also be available for sale at our SGB Consignment Shop on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10am-12pm in the Parish Center.
ARRIVAL K-8 (School begins promptly at 8am)
Students in Grades K-8 will arrive each morning either by car or by bus.
By Bus: The buses will line up in front of SGB upon arrival. The students will exit the bus and enter the front doors of our school beginning at 7:45am.
By Car: Once the buses depart after all bus riders have entered the building, the car line will begin drop off, usually around 7:50am. Cars line up on Cinder Road and make a RIGHT HAND turn into the front cut-out driveway in front of our school building.
- Car riders K-2: Go directly to the front of the building and drop off your child there. Your child should exit on the RIGHT HAND side of the car and if possible be able to exit the car with items independently to allow the line to continue moving. (We understand if they need a helping hand at the start of the school year!)
- Car riders 3-8: If there is no line when you arrive, you may drop your child in front of the building. If a line has formed, please go forward and drop your child by the entrance to the gym. Then proceed through the top parking lot and exit down by the church.
Please be patient as it does take some time in the beginning of the school year.
Grades K-3 - Go to the GYM
Grades 4-8 - Go to your classrooms
DISMISSAL K-8
By Bus: Buses will be waiting for students in the top parking lot. Students will exit the gym doors and proceed to their assigned bus accompanied by their bus monitor (7th or 8th grade student.) Buses exit beginning at 2:45pm and can take 5-10 minutes especially in the beginning of the year.
By Car: Parent picking up by car will line up AROUND the church and wait at the bottom of the entrance to the top parking lot. Once the buses have left, the car line will proceed up the hill for pick up by the GYM ENTRANCE.
Please plan on having your child enter on the RIGHT SIDE of your car. Once you have your child in your vehicle, you will proceed directly out of the driveway.
FIRST DAY SGB PARENT Coffee & Donuts
SGB K-8 Parents,

THANK YOUS...
St. Gregory Barbarigo School is ready to welcome back all our SGB students and families. The teachers, classrooms and grounds are ready to begin a wonderful year.
St. Gregory Barbarigo School & Church's driveways and parking lots were repaved over the summer. They look fantastic!
Special thanks to the following for all their hard work this summer to prepare:
To Mr. Fagan, Mr. Leandro and our team of young adult helpers
who moved furniture, cleaned, waxed floors, painted, carted books and packages to rooms and so much more.
To Mrs. Pignard and Mrs. Hanneman,
who DID EVERYTHING (and more!) and did it with a smile all summer long...you are truly the best!
