Families,

What a fun day! Hope you enjoy all the pictures from the parade this afternoon. Mother Nature was smiling down on us this week. We had such a wonderful turn out for Pumpkins on Parade. Thanks to all that were able to come out and decorate pumpkins on the front lawn. It's always nice to get together.

We hope to seeing everyone at Parent/Teacher Conferences this week. If you still need to schedule a conference, you can contact teachers or Mrs. Phillips in the office. The teachers are looking forward to sharing your student's progress and their growth.

While you are conferences, please check out our Lost and Found. It is overflowing! Pictures are below in this update, but there is too much to show everything!

We are hoping to plan a celebration of cultures for near the end of the school year. This would be during the school day. To help with planning, we would appreciate family members filling out this School Culture Survey, so that the event is representative of the student body and their families.

5th Grade 3D Pumpkins

5th graders really enjoyed creating these 3D Pumpkins in art this week! They are very excited to have them to decorate with at home for years to come!

Kindergarten Pointillism Fall Trees

Kindergartners learned about the Art style, Pointillism this week. We looked at the famous painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte” by Georges Seurat. The kids were astonished to find out that it took Seurat over two years to complete the painting!

Our next Friends of Wiggin Street meeting will be November 7th at 5:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be during Parent/Teacher Conferences with set up on October 31st and sales on November 1st, 2nd, and 6th. If you are available at these times, please consider volunteering to help with the book fair by clicking on the link below. Thank you!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair will be open during Parent/Teacher Conferences. Students will also be able to create a wish list and/or purchase items on Wednesday, November 1st during school hours. A digital e-wallet shopping link will be provided prior to the sale that can be shared with family and friends.

Lost and Found

Fall has arrived! Please remind your student to get their sweatshirts and jackets from lost and found. Don't forget to check out the collection at Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Remember that it is helpful to label all jackets, lunchboxes, bookbags, etc.

Morning Drop Off Safety Reminder

For those dropping off students in the morning, please do not get out of your vehicle. If your student needs assistance getting out of the vehicle, please pull off to the right side and walk them safely to the sidewalk.

Also, students are to walk in front of their car when exiting from the passenger side, so parents can watch for them. For this reason, please do not back up to go around a car. If you leave plenty of space between cars, you can go around if needed.

This is for the safety of all students, so that no one gets injured. Thank you!

Idle-free Zone

For pick up, please do not arrive until 3:30. There is no stopping, standing, or parking on E. Brooklyn St. allowed. Also, please reminder that our school is an Idle-free Zone. Protect our children and the community by turning off your engine.
