HOME & SCHOOL CONNECTION
OCTOBER: ENGAGED AND SELF-AWARE
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This month, our Gators are working on the following character traits:
Self-awareness: Having an understanding of our own thoughts, feelings, values, beliefs and actions and
Engaged: The level of enthusiasm and dedication a student feels toward learning.
Our goal is to practice being able to identify emotions and thoughts about ourselves in an appropriate way. What does it look and feel like to be engaged in learning?
How can you help at home:
Discuss with your child how to identify
their feelings and thoughts
Discuss with your child ways to calm
down
Discuss with your child how to handle
stress anger, and other strong emotions
Encourage your child to create goals at
school and at home
Discuss with your child what if looks/feels like to be engaged in learning.
Your support is always appreciated. Thank you for helping us build a positive school environment of active and reflective learners!
