PRINCIPAL NEWS
Our last TN for the 2022-2023 school year and what a great year it has been. We look forward to tonight's Class of 2023 Commencement Ceremony at Caramoor and tomorrow's 8th grade Moving Up Ceremony.
All our Regents Exams are completed and scores are getting uploaded. Final grades are being calculated and final report cards should be visible via ParentPortal next Wednesday 6/28, late afternoon. This year we will be collecting Chromebooks back from all students in both the Middle School and High School. Please have students return their Chromebook to their homeroom teacher. Seniors are required to return their Chromebooks to the main office.
Thank you to our students and staff and all those that helped make this year a wonderful year of growth both in and out of the classroom. Many people are involved in our students' successes and thanks goes out to our PTO, Foundation for Learning, our Booster Club, custodians, drivers, facilities folks, our administrative assistants, our food service staff, our SRO's and security personnel, our Board of Education, and of course our parents - thank you for supporting our students throughout the year.
Please have a restful, relaxing summer and see you in September!
Regards,
Mr. DiGrandi

MENTAL HEALTH NEWS
Why Do Kids Act Out?
Whether it’s hitting a classmate on the playground, having a tantrum in the grocery store, or flatly refusing to do their homework, all children have behavior problems from time to time. They’re still learning to manage their emotions — and understand what they’re feeling in the first place. But when kids act out on a regular basis, figuring out what’s driving their behavior is the key to helping them improve it.
This week on childmind.org, we round up resources on understanding kids’ behavior, and knowing when behavior issues might indicate underlying mental health or learning challenges. We also have ideas for helping kids get their chores done and transition between activities, two situations that often come with difficult behavior.
