Happy Memorial Day!
Good evening Wang Fam!
A reminder that there is no school on Monday to celebrate Memorial Day.
We hope that you enjoy this long weekend and reflect on the meaning of what Memorial Day truly is. It is a time for us to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served in the military and given their lives to protect our country. It is important for all of us to remember and think about the sacrifices that they have made.
Tuesday morning, we have a group of just about 30 students in the 8th grade heading to Washington, DC for our annual trip! A reminder to those families that the bus leaves PROMPTLY at 6 am Tuesday morning, so be at the Wang School no later than 5:30 am to get your child checked in and ready for the bus! We cannot wait to hear about all the great times and see the wonderful photos of our Nation's Capitol!
It is very important that if your child has been recommended for summer school by their teachers or you are interested in our summer enrichment programs that you fill out the survey in the Wang Eagle. We are attempting to get a head count for our classes and our programs so please look for that survey form and fill it out if your child needs to attend summer school or you are interested in the summer enrichment program offerings. A final reminder that ALL the summer programs for the Wang will be at the Stoklosa school, as we are having construction work done at the Wang this summer.
We hope you all have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing your child Tuesday morning at 8 am!
Civics Day!
- Congratulations to our amazing students who took part in the LPS Civics Day competition on Monday! For the third year in a row, we had a group win an award - our students from homeroom 202 won an Action Award: The students have utilized a variety of tactics to engage their targets and have shown considerable thoughtfulness and attention to quality in completing their tactics. Let's hear it for Anna Boissoneault, Korben Buckley, Emma DeJesus, and Emely Leon Alvarenga!
Look at these Amazing Artists!!!
Our Art students from Allied Arts group 8-2 finished their Legacy Mural!
Students had to create a bakery sign for a future Wang School imitation bakery. This "bakery" will display future 8th grade clay desserts throughout the school year. 8-2 students decided to name the bakery, "Eagles Nest" in honor of our mascot. Students then found out everyone's ethnicity in their class and created the flags. All the flags were HAND DRAWN by students Mili, Lexi, Sameda, and Anya. 8-2 even decided to add an adorable little 3D slug to the mural, made by Gracie, which they called, Kerholina. AMAZING JOB 8TH GRADERS!
