Dear Early Steps Families:

Thank you for getting your children to school on time (by 8:00 AM) as it sets them up for connection, organization, and overall success in school. Drop off is from 7:50 - 8:00 AM. If you arrive after that, please park on Mt. Auburn St. as the Hosmer School buses start arriving in the Winthrop St. - Hancock St. loop at 8:00 AM. As a reminder, if you are late, you must escort your child to the main office, sign in, and wait with them while we contact their teacher to retrieve them.

Be sure to read the section of my newsletters 'Some Important Dates' and note these dates/times on your calendars. Our Cunniff and Lowell School friends may have slightly adjusted times/days. We are excited to welcome parents and guardians to continue to partner in your child's school experience as you meet with teachers at the upcoming Fall Caregiver Conferences. While we do not celebrate Halloween at school (Link), we will be having a Pajama Day soon and teachers will notify you when that date is selected.

The season's are changing, and with this cooler weather come a lot of unwelcome sicknesses. In order to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all students, please keep your child home if they are unwell. As a reminder, students need to stay home for at least 24 hours after any of the following symptoms are observed:

• Fever over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. A child should not come back until they are fever free for a full 24 hours without medication.

• Excessive coughing or sneezing

• Vomiting and/or diarrhea

• If antibiotics are prescribed for any illness, children need to be on the antibiotics for a full 24 hours before returning to school.

If your child is home sick, teachers and I would appreciate you informing us. This will help us better care for your child when they return to school and keep an eye out for other students in the class who may be developing similar symptoms. Hand washing is the single most effective way to prevent germs and infections from being passed around. Please encourage your kids to practice good hand hygiene! Thank you for helping to keep our school healthy!

• Please refer to this doc to schedule a 20-minute conference: (1) to sign up, and (2) to access the Zoom meeting links (if you selected to meet on Zoom). Your child's teacher may have already shared this information with you. You only need to sign up once. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher directly.

Directions for Families:

1. Select your child's teacher's name

2. Click on the SignUp Genius Link

3. Select the time you would like to meet with your child’s teacher

4. Enter your first name, last name, and email address

5. Select the “sign up now button” to confirm the time

6. During the selected time, please use the Zoom link provided to meet with the teacher
