National Youth Violence Prevention Week is a week-long initiative aimed at raising awareness and educating students, staff, and the community on ways to prevent and reduce youth violence, and will end on May 2.

Activities shared have highlighted the positive impact students can have in creating safer schools and communities—tied to the mission of Sandy Hook Promise.

PowerSchool eCollect form titled Incoming 9th Grade Questionnaire has now been created and published in the Parent/Guardian Portal for current 8th grade/MYP Y3 families (who have indicated that their child) will be attending Franklin Academy for their child's 9th grade. Please complete the brief, one-question form by Thursday May 1, 2025.

Below are the answer options for the E-Collect for the incoming 9th grade to our K12 campus:

1. Yes, I did my intent to return and completed the course selection form.

2. Yes, I did my intent to return, but did not complete the course selection form.

3. Yes, I did my intent to return but I'm undecided about attending Franklin Academy K-12.

4. Yes, I did my intent to return, but I will not be attending Franklin Academy K-12.

• Student Progress Report Cards will be shared electonically with families via email.

• They will also be available to download from the original message in parent/guardian PowerSchool accounts.

Grade 8/MYP Y3 students may wear a white collared shirt under the gown for the portrait.

If you have not submitted your Broward County Parent Acknowledgement form (like the one pictured) please do so immediately.

Be sure to complete the form in its entirety and share with your child's homeroom teacher.

Due to our campus construction proeject taking place over our Summer Break, we are encouraging our families to complete their service hour committment by the end of May, 2025. There will be limited access to our campus once the 24-25 school year ends in June, 2025.

While 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. BCPS is sharing valuable information, tips and resources to use during the month and year round.

End-of-Course and Science State Assessment Academic Camps will continue throughout

the first week of May. All Academic Camps will conclude by Thursday May 8, 2025.

All student athlete paperwork must be submitted to Aktivate by 7pm on Friday May 9, 2025.

Quarter 4 Clubs are currently running and will end on Thursday May 22, 2025.
