FCMS EXPRESS
Week of October 14, 2024
From Mr. Liggett:
FCMS Family,
As we prepare for this last full week before we go on fall break, I wanted to recognize our student body. Our students are beginning to get things “figured out” when it comes to their routines at school. Recognizing student accomplishments and continued growth is a great way to reinforce the positive culture we are fostering. We are in the process of getting students interested in our academic teams as well as our newly formed student safety committee. We have our incentive day this week for those students who met the Wildcat Work Ethic. We will have another dress up day on October 31st with students and staff dressing up in their favorite costume.
The ILEARN testing is over and we are looking forward to our upcoming school dance on November 1st . These upcoming events, like the incentive day, school dance, and costume dress-up, will bring a lot of excitement and fun as well! With each new event at school, we want our students to feel a sense of worth and well-being.
As always, please continue to support our efforts by communicating your questions and concerns. Our mission at FCMS is to provide every student with the opportunity to receive a safe and quality education where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Trent Liggett
FCMS Principal

Staff Spotlight
History Lessons of Mr. Ebrens
In this week’s staff spotlight, we have FCMS’s athletic director and 8th-grade social studies teacher, Mr. Ebrens. Mr. Ebrens has been teaching for 30 years, 10 of those years at FCCSC. He grew up in Brookville. He attended Northern Kentucky University and Xavier. While at NKU he played basketball. He majored in education and got his master's in sports administration.
If he wasn’t a teacher he thinks he would probably be in finance. His favorite holiday is Christmas and he loved listening to Led Zeppelin “back in the day.” His favorite movie is Talladega Nights. His favorite NFL team is the Bengals. Mr. Ebrens also likes to go to Lake Cumberland with his family for vacation.
Mr. Ebrens is a great teacher who welcomes all to his classroom and we are happy he made the move to FCMS.

From Mrs. Edwards' FACS Classes:
The 8th grade students completed a project last week that always puts smiles on the faces of the 2nd graders at Mt. Carmel school. The Monster plushies are a collaboration between our middle school students and the 2nd graders. The second graders receive a variety of patterns and they select and design what they would like to make a monster look like. Our 8th graders take those designs from the 2nd graders and bring them to life. I am always amazed at what they create and how incredible the monsters turn out in the end. The 8th graders work so hard on these and I could not be more proud of them.
The 7th graders have been learning how to use a simple pattern and create a face for an emoji face of their choice. For many of our 7th graders sewing is a new skill. These emojis that they created turned out well and will put a smile on your face.
