NEWS FROM THE PANTHER DEN
WEEK 18 EDITION
WEEK 18 REFLECTION
As we continue our school theme of "Adapt, Evolve, Excel," it is essential to reflect on how we prepare our students for the opportunities of tomorrow. One of the most impactful ways students can shape their futures is by thoughtfully selecting elective and Advanced Placement (AP) courses that align with their unique skills, talents, and passions. Elective courses and AP classes offer a chance to dive deeper into interests, uncover hidden talents, and build foundational skills for future success.
This week the PTHS Administration met with Grades 9 through 11 to discuss the scheduling process for next year. Students were introduced to the courses being offered and the importance of selecting electives and AP classes that push them beyond their "comfort" boundary. Knowing what they are passionate about, what their talents are and what they value is a big part of their educational blueprint.
Passion is a powerful motivator. When students select courses that excite and inspire them, they approach learning with enthusiasm and dedication. Whether it’s delving into coding, mastering an AP art portfolio, or analyzing classic and contemporary works in AP Literature, these experiences help students develop a sense of purpose and direction while building critical skills like creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Our counselors, teachers and administrators are here to support students every step of the way. Over the next few weeks, the students will be selecting elective courses and be recommended for core courses. Students are encouraged to choose wisely. Classes should not be chosen because they want to be with their friends or because they want an "easy" schedule. Classes should be chosen that will prepare the students for their individual futures far beyond the walls of PTHS. The world is in their hands and their future is ahead. #nocknation
