Week 17
Happy New Year, BCS!
It was a little funny to come back for only two days last week, but it allowed us to welcome our students with joy, revisit expectations and start the new year with intention.
Classes started thinking about goals to set for the year, and what they hope to accomplish together. Some goals were simple "I want to get better at multiplication", some were fun "I want to try crab!"
Next week, our students in K-5 will begin our mid-year assessments and screeners to see our growth since September. We are excited for them to show what they know and celebrate their academic and social emotional gains. We want students to do their best, without pressure and feel proud of the ability to do hard things.
To that end, if anyone would like to send in a special snack for your child(s)' classroom this week- it is welcome! We would love things like: gum, popcorn, cheese & crackers, cut up fruit etc. Please coordinate with your child's teacher for delivery of items.
We, at BCS, appreciate your continued support of our little school
Best,
Jenny
Things to Know at BCS
Dress for the Weather
Please make sure your child has all outdoor gear everyday (snowpants, coat, boots, hat, gloves). It is also a good idea to pack extra socks in backpacks as our feet get wet easily this time of year!
Arrival and Dismissal
Arrival at BCS begins at 7:40 and ends at 7:55. Please make sure your child arrives to school on time!
Please take care during these busy times of the day to ensure safety of students at they are getting out of cars, getting onto busses etc. If you are dropping off or picking up- stay in line until it is your turn to pull up.
We appreciate your care and attention to keep BCS safe!
A Focus on Kindness
When we return from break, we will be focused on kindness as a whole school for the month of January and Bridport will be joining hundreds of other schools in the Great Kindness Challenge January 27th-January 31st.
