THE SWIS SCOOP
March 5, 2024
Communication 🗣️
Dear SWIS Families,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the first days of March. I'm hopeful that with Daylight Savings on the horizon, warmer days are coming. Fingers crossed.
I would like to take a moment to extend a big thank you to the PTO for their fun Boosterthon/Climbathon announcements yesterday. It was a fantastic way to kick off the week. The cheers and excitement from both students and staff were heard throughout the school. Additional thanks to our SWIS community for the unbelievable generosity.
Academic Update:
We're continuing our focus on integrating the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) throughout our curriculum. Students are really taking hold of their own learning and showing this in many creative ways. We couldn’t be prouder of their efforts and progress. **See detailed curriuclum updates in the links that follow.
Congratulations to our SWIS Chorus! They performed last evening in the All Town Chorus at Auburn High School. So proud!
Upcoming:
- Fourth-grade students will embark on a field trip to the Tsongas Historical Park this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- The SWIS Band will perform at the All Town Band performance this Thursday evening at 6:30 at Auburn High School.
- We'll be celebrating Pi Day on 3-14, learning about circumference along with enjoying our tradition of delicious pies from the Table Talk factory in Worcester.
- Report cards will be sent home on March 21st.
- Our SWIS Art Festival will take place on Monday, March 18th and Monday, March 25th from 4 to 7. Please see details below.
